Chapter 14: Evergreen, The Heart of The Magical Kingdom

As the two are about to set off on an adventure. Troy quickly turns around facing Goberin and say "Oh, I almost forgot but there's a faster way that we can get there and it only takes 7-9 hours"

"WH-WHATTTTT!!!! THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO SOONER!!!"

"Hehehe... But if I did then I wouldn't get to see you all emotional, hahahaha!"

The two walk through the forest. Goberin's still mad but he murmured under his breath "So this world has trains..."

"Oh! Um, Troy?"

"What is it?"

"What are these 'trains' and how do they function?"

"Uh well that's... a bit uh... I don't know much but what I know is just that they use the mana of the person who's controlling it to work! Does that help you?"

"Plenty, thank you!"

*Choo!* *Choooo!*

"Wow! That was quick!"

"Yeah, it wasn't that far away"

A building that looks like a train station awaits them with people waiting for their trains.

"It seems like that's our train, come on!"

"Oh um... Shouldn't we get like a piece of paper to inform that we are taking this train or something?"

"What's that? Of course no, we only need to hand in the money to the person standing near the door"

"Oh, haha..."

"But don't worry, I'll cover for you!"

When they got closer to the train, Goberin's eyes widen when he looked at how there are no wheels beneath the train and it's floating above the tracks.

"It got a name?... MagiTrain, huh... Generic name as ever"

"Hey Goberin! Get in already!"

"R-Right!"

*Chooo* *Chooo!!*

The train leaves the station.

"Woooow! So many fields and meadows!"

"Yeah yeah, sit down... I'm not your babysitter"

After a couple of hours later, the train ride ended with nothing happened.

*Stretch*

"Nghh... That sure was a long ride"

"All the more better when it had finally ended, kid honestly... You were nagging on me and asking me questions like I'm father"

"Hehe well you're my master!"

"Yeah yeah... Let's get going..."

Goberin runs out of the station full of excitement as he felt the sunlight hit his face and a view of stone and brick building with tile roofs come into his view. And an overshot of a massive white castle quickly made him jump into the air to see its tallest tower with a flag blowing in the breeze. It was in the evening as well, the capital was covered with a golden shine from the sun setting.

"Welcome to Evergreen! The biggest capital of the Magical Kingdom!"

Goberin runs around the town's streets while Troy keeps him out of trouble.

"What a lively goblin!"

"Hahaha!"

"And oh my, isn't that Troy? So handsome~"

"So he got an apprentice eh?"

"Honestly kid, don't run around like that..." Troy is giving Goberin a piggy back ride to make him watch the view of regular citizens walking by and talking to each other.

"Wow..."

"You could check later if you want but first we need to get to Kokoharu"

"Right!"

After walking around the streets, Goberin got to see a few Inns, marketplace and a large two stories Adventurer's Guild with a crest of a staff in gold. And couples making wishes near a fountain while bard and jester sing, doing tricks to get a living on the streets. As some adventurers pass by him with a giant boar on a carriage.

"Alright, here we are!" Goberin looks forward to see an open campus with students wearing wizard robes in different colours. Some are studying while others eat lunch and practicing some magic spells. Goberin then gets down and looks in awe.

"What? Are you interested in studying here?"

"W-Well no... But anyways, where's professor Kokoharu?"

"She's probably in her own teacher's room, come and I'll take you to her"

"Yes master!"

Eyes begin to shift. Goberin notices this as well as he looks at Troy ignoring them.

"You're very famous, master!"

"Hehe... It's a bit annoying since there has been more than one person beaten an Obsidian but I don't know why I got to be the center of attention..."

Troy walks Goberin through the greenery campus into the University. Walking up some stairs to floor 2 and Troy got greeted by female students from time to time and male students asking for his techniques.

But both of them made to a room at the end of the hallway with a sign above the door said "Kokoharu's Office".

*Phew* *knock* *knock* *knock*

"Mhm? Who's there?"

"It's me, Troy..."

"Oh! U-Uh um... Give me a minute!"

Goberin looks up at Troy's nervous face before asking "Are you alright? Did you two have a fight or something?"

Troy responded with "N-No... It's fine, just something in the past... that's all"

*Creek*

"Honestly Troy... You should have sent me a letter in advance or something, I was a bit busy with my work..."

"Hey, Kokoharu... Glad to see that you're as good as ever"

Kokoharu gives a small chuckle "Hihi~ I'm glad to see you again... I thought that I would never get to see you again for another month! And also, who's that friend of yours? A goblin right?"

"U-Um, my name's Goberin! This is my master! He named me that!"

"Huh? You talk? How unexpected... But I guess anything could happen... And also Troy, you got such bad naming skills"

"So what brings him here?"

"Oh um... I guess I should leave the two of you be to catch up on old things?"

"No, it's fine... I'm about to leave actually. Goberin, I'll wait for you at the entrance of the University. Go and finish asking your questions or whatever..."

Troy then turns his heel and leaves quickly.

Seeing this Kokoharu sighs "Troy... You don't have to be awkward like this all the time..."
