The Barrier

Sora and Jong-un were walking towards the castle, the castle and this ruin was so well documented that everyone has been taught about this place since their childhood, while there are a few excited about this place like Kang Sora, most are similar to Jong-un and are very afraid of this place just because of the sheer mortality rate, not even ten percent of the people who enter here were able to get back safely.

"You know it's very fortunate that we met, I heard that the chance of meeting someone who speaks the same language is very rare. Moreover I recognise your uniform, I think we are from the same city. Otherwise I don't have confidence in my English." Said Jong-un while walking towards the barrier.

"Oh, that's something, Hehe i deliberately never learned any other language because I know we will get a universal language when we awaken. Why waste time am I right?" Replied Sora in a playful manner.

"Why are you so optimistic?, everything's random here, we might encounter the strongest monster right off the bat. Err, so frustrating." retorted Jong-un with evident frustration.

"I was hoping we would meet more people on the way, but we're almost at the barrier. What do we do?, do we wait or enter?" She asked while looking all around them for survivors.

"...let's wait sometime and keep observing beyond the barrier, ...I will make some makeshift weapons." Said Jong-un as he started looking around for materials.

While Jong-un and Sora were waiting patiently, many others like them were forming teams and heading towards the barrier, but there were some lone wolves as well who were entering the barrier without waiting for others. Perhaps they may be tempted by the possibility of a better odds for a better ability for being the first to arrive, who knows.

Sora and Jong-un waited patiently for an hour but may be due to the sheer radius of the barrier, that they seem to have missed other survivors. During this time, they made weapons out of wood and stones, three crude Spears and a stone hammer. They both choose a spear each and Jong-un also carried the crude hammer, they left the spare spear behind for any survivors and decided to pass throught the barrier to the kill zone.

Inside this barrier are different types of monsters, it depends on your luck which you would encounter, luckily for them they only saw relatively low level monsters so far.

And soon after, they encountered a fluffy looking rabbit almost three times the the size of a normal adult rabbit with a horn on its forehead.

"Lucky, it's a horned rabit, it's weak but fast. Don't take your eyes off of it."

Said Sora excitedly.

"Easy for you to say, a hundred other monsters could come our way anytime from any direction. Huu, let's kill it and move on faster." Said Jong-un as he relaxed his body.

The horned rabbit seeing the humans immediately darted towards them zip zapping all the way, it's speed was much faster than the duo expected, it wiz pass them like a phantom, it's hornes missing them by a hairs width.

Both Jong-un and Sora were shaken, but they held the spear tight, slashing and thrusting left and right with all their might, Jong-un has already gotten a lot of small cuts and bruises on his body, and finally Sora was able to cut the rabbit with one of her slashes and killing it with a follow-up pierce. Few drops of blood spraying and staining her uniform.

"Haak, huu, that was tough,..haa, I almost died to a rabbit. Haa, we can't stay here, we need to move fast." Said Jong-un while panting on the ground.

"Y-yeah, I agree, we severely underestimated it, ...hooo, let's avoid the next one." Sid Sora while trying to recover stamina and using the spear as support to stand straight.

"Weren't you very optimistic?" Asked Jong-un in a mocking tone.

"Oh, don't be so petty, we are yet to awaken." Said Sora disdainfully.

"Tsk. Let's go" Jong-un just sat up and moved towards the dense canopy ahead.

"Hey, you keep an eye on the front and left, I will keep an eye on the back and our right." Sora said in a shushed voice and Jong-un just nodded and both of the headed further in.

An hour later, both Sora and Jong-un can be seen frantically climbing a tree and staying hidden with slow breathing, and a few seconds later a giant 3 meter tall grizzly bear can be seen moving under the tree they are on, and the bear seems to smell the tree a few times but fortunately decided to move on.

After the bear left the area, both humans heaved a sigh of relief.

In another area inside the barrier, a group of people are running to avoid the assault of kobolds.

"Aargghh, nooo, don't kill me"

"Shit! fuck, don't follow me, nooo"

"AARGGHH MY LEGS, MY LEGS."

they initially carried tree branches as weapons but in front of the kobolds with stronger physique and faster reaction speeds, it  didn't hold much longer, and they were beaten left and right, losing morale and succumbing to dread, the group eventually got destroyed with a few escaping with severe injuries.

In another area inside the barrier, two men and a woman, all three in their mid twenties were fighting with a group of goblins, surprisingly the three were seamlessly overpowering the goblins with rusty swords.

"Haha, lucky of us to encounter a bunch of goblins, they are so weak."

"Haha, it's nothing compared to finding these swords."

Both the men were laughing and chatting to each other in Japanese while seamlessly disposing of goblins meanwhile the woman has an annoyed expression.

"I don't understand what the two of you are talking, but please focus on the monsters, I can't keepup."

The woman spoke in english with confusion and was struggling to find off multiple opponents. The two men didn't understand what she said but admired her fighting capability.
