The thought that suddenly popped into his mind made Li Huowang shiver all over.
He carefully felt all over his body and, after realizing there wasn't an extra jade pendant on him, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
"That's right, it was just a dream, just a dream," Li Huowang murmured to himself with lingering fear.
"What's the matter?" Bai Lingmiao lit the oil lamp and asked drowsily.
"It's nothing, nothing at all, go back to sleep."
Seeing that Li Huowang didn't say anything else, Bai Lingmiao didn't ask any further and closed her eyes.
Her white-haired head rested lightly on his shoulder, caressing his heaving chest softly and gently with her slender palm.
As he held the hand on his chest, Li Huowang looked straight at the beam above him. "Miaomiao."
"Hmm?" Bai Lingmiao responded subconsciously, half-asleep and half-awake.
