Old Enough To Use Them As Rug

"Blind date? Are you serious?"

"Yeah, serious enough to tell you myself."

Anna can't believe this. There was already so much happening these days, and now Kiera is telling her to go on a blind date all of a sudden? Like seriously?

Though it was not Kiera's fault, to begin with. Who knew that her mother would call all of a sudden out of nowhere after so many months and also not to her but to Kiera for informing her to attend some shitty blind date? After hearing those new bloomed heated rumors about her, maybe she couldn't keep her cool like before. Maybe some of her neighbors started to badmouth her again. But does she have to go to this extent? When your daughter is no longer useful to you, you are just gonna marry her off?

No, Anna didn't want to make it sound like that. But she was already exhausted by all those things. Mr. Kavin tried his best to settle the things here. On the other hand, Kiera somehow was able to pull something out of her connections to make fake news about her being in Korea that day. Though they thought they needed to go to Korea, thinking it clearly, they understood if she steps out of the country and somehow gets captured by paparazzi again, then all their efforts will go in vain. So, she decided to be here, secured at Mr. Kavin's penthouse.

She wanted to understand her mother's side too, but she just couldn't. Right now, she was in a big mess and it was quite impossible for her to set her mind for a blind date out of nowhere.

"I know, Anna. but how can I just reject her? She called to ask about you after so many months. I was already happy to get the call, I didn't give it too much thought…." Kiera couldn't finish her sentence.

"Yeah, I know too. It's just that she never bothers to call me," Anna said plainly.

There was no feeling in that voice. She acted like it didn't matter that much to her. But it was Kiera who knew well, it was Annabelle's skill to act all cool outside and suppressing her real feelings underneath. She just hated it. Why is she focused on holding on to her real feelings, huh? Someday, it's gonna hurt her for sure.

"Let's not think of it that way. You said you never got to do something for your mom and dad, right? It's just a blind date. Do it for them once. They already set the date for you. I don't think I would be some kind of weirdo. Pretty please?"

Kiera did make sense. She should at least do it this once. She never actually did anything for them. It was her time to pay them back. She snatched their elder daughter from them, she can't make them more miserable than this, right? After all, they are also her parents.

"So, who is he? Didn't she send you, his profile?"

"Yeah, she did. But you can always get to know him little by little after meeting him two or three times. Why are you asking about his profile like that?"

Annabelle was facing the window. She turned to look at her friend in an instant.

"Get to know each other? Did you drink something fishy? What's wrong with you? Can't I just know about someone with whom I am going to meet when the other person will know everything about it?"

"Yes, of course, you can! It's just I am trying to make it more interesting you know?" Kiera avoided Anna's piercing gaze as she said that.

Anna held her head with her hand in pure frustration. Did her mother somehow succeed in manipulating her? Mom is always like that, even the mighty Kiera Simmons gets manipulated by her easily.

"You know, right? I don't fall for guys that easily. Actually, to be exact, I never fell for them before either."

"Aighoo… Anna! You didn't fall before, but there's a possibility you can in the future, right? Just try it out, girl!"

"Saying someone who never shares about her love life with me," Anna rolled her eyes.

"Uff… Anna! Just leave me for now at once and focus on yourself. Look at you. Those dark circles are making you look like a MOMO. If your fans get to see you like this, they would surely protest that this Annabelle isn't their old idol. Thank god, that picture wasn't zoomed in enough," Kiera tried her best to change the whole topic.

Anna squinted her eyes all of a sudden. Gosh… did she already get caught?

"Kiera?"

"Yeah?"

"My mom, she didn't possess you, right?"

Kiera heaved a sigh. Thank God, she didn't get it.

"Ahahaahah, what the hell. No! Why would she possess me for no reason? Don't talk rubbish and get ready. We are going out."

"For what?" Anna sounded confused.

"For you to look more like a human!"

When Kiera dragged Annabelle out of the penthouse in a hurried manner, she didn't know that she would make her go through the whole manicure session. She never thought she would again go to the parlor for her skincare after so many years. It's been a while when she went outside of the house wearing her weirdo costume; that gray hoodie and black jeans.

After getting inside the car, she was glancing back again and again behind her today as that previous incident kinda traumatized her. Kiera also felt a little bad for her as she was glancing from time to time from the road to her while driving.

"We can go home now, right?" Anna asked Kiera when the manicure session was almost over. She won't blame Kiera though. After a long time, it felt kinda nice to have some relaxing time here. And that body massage was also amazing. She felt she was melting back there.

"Not yet," Kiera replied with a devilish smile.

"What else now? Gahhh…"

Anna has to go home before 7 no matter what. Or else she would miss today's anime episode. She really liked the protagonist there. But it doesn't look like Kiera's gonna let her see today's episode.

Soon after closing the parlor session, Kiera dragged Anna to the shopping mall. Why is she making her go to public places all of a sudden? Though they were able to suppress the rumor at that time quite well, still roaming around the most crowded places of the city is a bit too much.

Kiera didn't have any bad intentions. It was just that, when you are not doing anything bad, you shouldn't be afraid of doing anything. Though there was nothing going on between Annabelle and Theodore, the picture came out to be a bit intimate. After all, paparazzi were skilled enough to make things look more scandalous than it is. As Kiera didn't know at that time, they were actually standing a little bit close to each other. Kiera just wants to make Anna believe that living like you want to is something equal to your birthright. Whether you are a celebrity or just a normal person, this right was something that no one could deny.

Anna had to follow Kiera to various shops for clothes and all other things that she already had.

"Arghh… why are you buying these? I already have tons of these types of clothes at home."

"Sure, you have those. But they have become old enough to use them as rug, dear."

"What? Hey…. They are not that bad, Kiera!" Anna scoffed as she felt a little bit insulted. They were also limited-edition clothes, though they were a bit old. How can she say that it can be used as a rug when she is very careful about using her clothes?

"Yeah, yeah! No doubt."

Suddenly a thought crossed her mind. These days, she almost forgot about a thing. How ironic it was! It's already been more than half a month since Theodore went back to Canada. She was so busy these days that she totally forgot to ask Kiera about him. Kiera neither mentioned him going back in front of her too.

So, it was just a fling of some days? Anna never thought she would be someone to have flings like this. This whole thing was new to her, really.

Should she try to ask about it for one time? At least, she should, right? Or else it would look too weird.

"Hey, Kiera?"

Kiera was busy looking for some party gowns on the other side of the showroom.

"Uh-huh?" she answered subconsciously.

"How is Theodore doing these days? I haven't heard anything from him recently."

Kiera was rummaging through the dresses, as she heard Anna, she stopped doing so.

"He went back. Didn't I tell you?" She replied while scratching her hair a little.

"Oh, he did? So soon, at least, he should have stayed for some more days. Then, we could have gone to tour with him sometime, right?"

"Yeah, but what to do? His university professor called him all of a sudden. So, he had to go."

Kiera lied as she was observing Anna's reaction. But there was no sadness in her face to be seen. Though it made her a little pleased, she was someone who could hide her emotions perfectly. Still, she should be at least a little shocked to know something all of a sudden right? She didn't react, which means she doesn't care about the whole thing that much. If that's the case, it's better then.
