One morning, while Ellie was busy reviewing Anderson Corp's financial statements in her office, she received a call from PO4 Santos regarding her mother's case.
Ellie's heart quickened as she picked up the phone, the memories of that fateful event rushing back to her.
"Ma'am, we have already caught the man who set fire to your house five years ago," said the person on the other line to Ellie, one of the investigators in her case about the fire that led to the death of her mother and others.
"Alright, I'll go there," she affirmed.
Now, the true story of the fire that happened back then will be finally clarified, as she didn't have the financial means to pursue it before. But now, she was ready to spend millions just to bring justice to her mother.
She swiftly packed her things in the office and bid farewell to Jacob, slipping away to the precinct.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Jacob offered.
