I slowly and quietly approached the girl with long crimson hair reaching her lower back that had magically risen from the ground.
Looking at her clothes, even from behind, I knew she was wearing a school uniform.
I could see a long-sleeved white shirt with a small black cape draped over her shoulders, as well as a magenta miniskirt with a few white lines and brown dress shoes over white socks.
As she bent down, close to the boy, I could see a bit of her white face from which a thin nose protruded and a pair of blue-green eyes that shone with a glimmer of hope as she looked at the boy.
Without noticing my presence, she had stooped down beside the body of the guy who had lost consciousness. Then she slipped her hand behind his head, lifting him slightly as drops of blood dripped from the boy's hair onto the ground.
I stopped walking as I watched the scene being the most discreet possible.
Then, she whispered a few things and pulled out a chess piece as my eyebrows tightened slightly.
Why would she pull out a chess piece at a time like this? Not that she wanted to heal him with magic or anything like that.
Soon she pressed the pawn into his chest when a blinding red light engulfed them both and dazzled me as I put my arm in front of my eyes because the light was so blinding.
When the light faded, I could see the girl opening her eyes wide as she pulled out five more pawns and put them on the boy's chest, and this time the light was much less dazzling as the six pawns on his chest went inside.
"How?" I whispered. I had seen countless things, but everything that was happening now was challenging my beliefs.
The six pawns came out as the girl felt frustrated and happy as she took out two more for a total of eight, which she placed back on the guy's chest.
Does she want to play a chess game on his chest?' I thought, watching the girl put eight pawns on a guy who was dying from a big hole in his stomach.
Finally, the pawns went into the boy's chest as a huge flash of red light blinded me so much that I fell to the floor.
Looking up, I could see the girl looking at me strangely with a tinge of anger in her cat-blue eyes.
"Who are you?"
Her tone was slightly tired as she didn't take her eyes off me for a single second. I could also feel a slight tension from her.
Now, what should I do? Be direct? It won't work. I saw her stomping her foot as I took a deep breath after closing my eyes and opening them again.
"E-Excuse me, my name is Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. Nice to meet you?"
Again, I stuttered at the beginning of my sentence.
"Okay, he's only a human anyway..."
She mumbled as I took the opportunity to glance at the guy on the floor next to her. For a second, shock washed over me.
The guy who had taken the light in the belly was in good health. The hole in His stomach had disappeared, and I could even hear his breathing declining only slightly.
"Alright, I'll erase your memory."
She slowly approached me with a severe face while I frowned. 'Erase my memory?'
I quickly raised my hands in the air as I took a step back.
"Okay, but I'd like to know first, what are you going to do with him?"
I pointed behind her to the boy who had recovered from a mortal wound thanks to pawns.
"Why would I tell you?"
She looked like she was on guard despite wanting to appear confident.
Seeing that she wasn't confident, I decided to strike a direct blow.
"Well, anyway, you'll delete my memory afterward so you could at least tell me your name."
I looked at her strangely as her cheeks swelled with anger which she quickly hid.
"Alright, my first name is Rias. You don't need to know my name."
I nodded as she continued to speak.
"I am a demon, and he is a human who just turned into a Demon. His name is Hyoudou Issei."
Rias and Hyoudou Issei. I noted in my mind as she looked at me with strange eyes.
"Why don't you have any reaction when I tell you that I'm a demon? Aren't you afraid?"
I could see she was looking at me with a 'Is he an idiot?' look, but despite that, I shook my head at her.
"I've seen them before. Demons that hid their personalities well with black wings behind their backs."
I said, thinking of Kushida. Between her and Horikita, both were demons of disguising personalities and emotions.
"Huh? Black wings? Do you mean fallen angels? Do you know anything about the supernatural?"
She looked at me in disbelief while I nodded my head. In truth, I didn't understand anything she was telling me.
"All right. I believe you."
She suddenly relaxed and breathed a sigh of relief as I looked at her. Isn't she a little too naive?
"Well, I'm going to go. Glad to have met you Ayanokoji-kun."
"I would like to become a demon."
I suddenly said as she froze before turning around with a frown.
"Why do you want to become a demon?"
"I have no place to live."
Rias looked at me strangely before she revealed a beautiful laugh.
"I'm serious."
I said as she replied.
"Why should I turn you into a demon?"
When she told me this, I could confirm my assumptions of why she would turn an ordinary boy into a demon. She wanted something or someone to be helpful to her.
How selfish. I thought as I put my hands in my pockets.
"Making a bet, if I succeed to impress you, you turn me into a demon and find me a place to sleep and stay as well as enroll me in the Kuoh academy."
I saw her frown, but very quickly, a beautiful, playful smile settled on her face.
"What makes you think I can get you in the Kuoh Academy?"
"You're wearing a school uniform, and I can guarantee that there is only one academy in the city unless you still go to elementary school."
Upon hearing my sentence, she didn't get upset but nodded and then motioned for me to continue.
"I know you saved that guy with the pawns because he must be important to you, but since you don't know him well enough since you are slightly distant from him, he has a few things you want."
When I saw that she opened her eyes in amazement, I smiled inwardly and continued.
"Knowing that you're a demon, I will be able to certify that you can't steal that precious 'thing' he has, or else you would have done it already. Besides, your appearance just now was too sudden, right after the... fallen angel disappeared. So I could say that you planned this from the beginning. Am I wrong?"
Still with my hands in my pockets, I squinted at her as she had her eyes wide open and her mouth almost reaching the floor.
In truth, I was wrong. Looking at her behavior, I doubted that she could make a plan like that by herself. There must be several of them.
I discreetly swept my eyes around, only to find nothing but the night that had invaded the remote parts of the park.
"I... how?"
The girl muttered as I refocused my attention on her.
"All right, did I win?"
hey, here's the chapter for the day, maybe another one later, i don't know.
Tell me if the scenes are way too long, if so I would shorten them for the following chapters =)
You know what to do :)
See ya, love ya <3
