Chapter Twelve
"We're totally going shopping after school!" Debby said during lunch
"Do we have to?" I whined
"Uh yes! Do you even own a dress?!" She asked
"Of course not! Who wears dresses?! No offense"
"Taken! We are going shopping. besides,Jackson gave me his card"she said waving it around
"Debby! Why didn't you say this earlier? Of course we're going shopping" I teased and she squealed
"You're definitely going to be prom queen"
"What? No! I hate those stuffs.besides don't they hate me and all"
"Oh everyone is passed that now. Just like me,they all ship 'Kaliyah' "
"That is what they call us!? And you're only telling me this now!" I asked and she laughed
"What's Jackson's Favourite colour?"
"Blue"
"Perfect!"
"Blaahh he won't even be here!"
"He's dropping me off at school"she said beaming "What color are you wearing?"
"I don't know"
"What's Kaiden's favorite color?"
"I don't know debby!"
"Figure it out! Do I have to do everything!"She teased and we left the cafeteria after we were done.
In the empty hallways,Kira was making her way to class when she bumped into Austin.
"Hi" he said
"Nope,we're not friends" Kira said intending to leave
"It's just a greeting"
"Not interested!"
As she was moving,one of the light bulbs from the ceiling fell and was to land on her,but Austin held onto her on time.Holding her by her waist.the bulb shattered and missed her by a few inches.Debby and Aliyah were just about to make there way there,but instead hid by a corner and watched.
"Austin and Kira?!" I whispered
"I knew it! I knew he liked her" Debby whispered back
"No way!! But-" I began and stopped in my tracks
"What's with you?!" Kira yelled and made some distance between them.
"I just saved you!" Austin yelled back
"I didn't ask you to!"
"Cause that's how 'helping' works,You don't have to ask for it! Damn you're so arrogant!" He yelled back
noticing the blood oozing from the arm that held her away,"Go get that checked"she said calmer
"Like you'd care!" He replied
Furious,Kira turned to the other way and left,the crashing bulb caused enough commotion for people to come check it out.
"Austin,are you okay?" I asked as we walked out
"Yeah it's just a cut"he asked
"What happened?" Debby teased
"The light bulb fell and the glass cut me" he replied
"You sure that's all that happened?" I asked and Debby chuckled as he became uncomfortable.
The hallway was soon crowded and the teacher had already called the janitor to clean it up.Debby took Austin to the nurse,so I went along to get my books for class.
Just as I was about to open the locker,I felt the pair of warm hands wrap around my waist from behind.with a kiss on the cheek he said
"Hey"
"Hi" I replied giggling as I turned to face him
Pining me by my locker,he whispered
"Let's get out of here"
"We still have class"
"And?"
"Don't act stupid"
"Oh come on Aliyah,let's go have some fun" he insisted dragging me away unnoticed.
"Kaiden they will notice!"
"Relax"
"Where are we going?"
"To watch a movie,now shhh" he ordered and led me to his secret passway at the back of the school,where his bike was already parked up.
"You planned this already didn't you?" I asked and he chuckled
"I though I said shh" he evaded
We got to his bike and he drove away,seeing the path I realized where we are going.
we got to the treehouse and got up,inside a large blanket,a movie sheet on the wall and a projector in the back.a basket could be seen with movie snacks and drinks.
"Well?" He asked with a coy grin
"You're unbelievable" I replied amazed
He set everything up and we got comfortable on the pillows.the movie began and all my previous worries had completely faded,as I found myself lost in his embrace.
2hours went by and the movie ended,Kaiden had fallen asleep behind me.
"The tattoo?" I questioned myself "I have to check!" I said determined
Slowly I began to raise the sweatshirt he was wearing and he held my hands.
"Look who's naughty" He teased as I froze
Smiling I teased back "I'm cold" And pouted
"Why didn't you say so?" He replied with a grin
He removed his sweatshirt and gave it to me,and I wore it.with my eyes still fixated on him trying to spot the tattoo,until I found it.It was a small moon that was drawn on his lower left torso,and once again the realization stubbed my heart.
"Won't you feel cold" I asked
"You'll have to be my blanket then" he said and easily shifted me to lay on top of him.calming myself I laid on his chest.
"You really like tattoos" I pointed out
"Just two! All family related"
"When did you get this one?" I asked reaching for his torso
"When I was a little boy.It was my father's idea,Kira has one too.Mother was furious" he said and slightly chucked.
"You must miss them"
"Everyday.You surely understand that.At least I grew up with them,Kira was just a little girl.We gave her the tattoo later on"
"How were they? Your parents"
"Legends! My father was a great leader and my mother stood by his side every step of the way.there love was beyond all." He said then went silent
Before i could ask another question,he said "After prom,You'll go meet my family" and I raised my head to face him astonished.
"Really?" I asked with a smile and he nodded "I'd love to" I replied
"Is this a plot? Is he on to me? What if it's a plan? Or a trap? Why does he trust me so much? It hasn't even been that long. Could he really have fallen for me? Or was Jackson right and it's just charade? God why did this have to be so complicated" I contemplated "even when I try to avoid it,it was always comes back to you"
"So,Aren't we supposed to talk about prom? That's what everyone else seems to be doing" he teased and I chuckled
"Right! Are we wearing matching outfits?" I asked
"We do that already! to cliche,no?"
"Okay What's Your Favourite colour?"
"Black!" He replied "but I want you to be you,surprise me!" He said and I smiled
"We won't be going in your bike right?" I teased
"Of course not!" He replied
We were interrupted with my phone, Debby was calling and I remembered we had plans.
"Oh no,Debby!"
"What's up?"
"We are supposed to go do something"
"I'll take you,Come on" he said and we got up
"This was beautiful,thank you" I said and kissed him
"Yes Debby I know I know! I'm on my way!" I said answering the call
"The mall! Now!" She said and hanged up
"Shopping?"he teased
"Shut up!" I scolded and he drove me there
We got to the mall,he left and I met up with Debby inside as planned.
"Skipping school? I'm so proud!" She exclaimed and I laughed
"No one realized?" I asked
"Not a clue! Now,do you know his favorite color yet?"
"Yes but I have a better idea" I said as we went to the store
After searching and searching,Debby finally got a dress she liked.it was a royal blue sleeveless ankle-long dress, with a side split all the way to her upper left thigh.Beautifully embroiled with white diamonds on the chest piece,making her beautiful complexion stand out perfectly.
"Wow Debby! You look gorgeous" i exclaimed with a smile
"Awww,I also love this dress.we're definitely getting it!" She said enthusiastically
"Someone's gonna be jealous of Austin tomorrow!" I teased and she nudged me
"And you,it's almost dark and you haven't chosen anything!"
"There's nothing I like here! But don't worry I already have something in mind"
"Tell me it's a dress" she pleaded
"Yes! It's a dress!" I replied and she smiled
"Let's get going then!" She said got changed out of the dress,paid for it and she dropped me off home.
"What are you wearing? Let me see!" Jackson insisted
"No!! It's a surprise!" Debby replied giggling
"Have you told her yet?" He whispered
"No!"
"I can tell her,it's no problem"
"No I wanna do it myself,we promised we wouldn't keep secrets from each other.And I wanna know how she's doing,it must be hard going through all of this and not having anyone to talk to. I've been there" she said
"But now you have me"he said
"I know,But she also needs me. I'll talk to her after prom" she said and he nodded
"Austin!" She called out and going to him.
"What's up?" He asked.
debby whispered "I'll be wearing blue tomorrow" and he smiled
"Got it!" He replied
"And Kira?"
"Drop it! Please don't say anything about that! The whole Kaiden-Aliyah thing is already hard on Jackson.If he finds this out,he won't handle it well"
"We won't say anything.But think about you,she didn't have anything to do with the attack.5 years ago,she was thirteen. Maybe she was kept in the dark like Aliyah,have you ever thought of that?" She asked and he fell speechless.
"Secrets now huh!" Jackson said aloud and Debby giggled
"You're such a jealous freak,brother" Aliyah said returning downstairs
"I was just leaving.Good evening mr.Roy, Aliyah! Keep your word!" She insisted and I nodded
Jackson escorted her outside and I went to talk to Ana,she had told me once that she was a seamstress,so I wanted her to help me with my idea.I was going to wear my mothers dress,it was her favorite evening gown,that she had made on her own.She had given it to me and tomorrow seems likes the perfect day to commemorate her.I just needed for Ana to make some slight adjustments to it and she agreed.
Once Jackson returned and everyone was present,I told them that Kaiden will reveal his hide out to me after prom.Jackson was ecstatic,Uncle Roy insisted I be careful.
"That means he really likes you,Aliyah" Jackson said in a serious tone and I was silent.
"What happens from then?" Austin asked
"If Aliyah gets to see the place and there number, then that will just make it easier for us. We get to set the plan earlier within the month that remains" Uncle Roy said
"Will we harm the entire pack or just him?" He asked again
"All of them! We can't give them a chance to escape,we are starting a war! They have to be eliminated" Jackson said
"We shall decide once Aliyah returns with the information" Uncle Roy said
"They aren't all to blame,Jax. It isn't fair for all of them to pay the price!" I said
"Isn't fair? They left us orphaned!-"
"He did! Not they" Austin said
"And once they realize we've killed there alpha,what do you think will happen? They'll just let bygones be bygones!" Jackson said
"Am sorry but Jackson is right. If we give them a chance to rise,they will seek vengeance.We have to hit them hard!" Uncle Roy said
