Chapter Eleven

A mere two weeks later,school was completely hectic.Why?Prom of course! It was this weekend and everyone was relentless,across the halls and even during class,it was promposal after promposal,As of Jackson's pleadings,Austin was to take Debby to prom.

In the hallway,a guy accidentally bumped into Kira shoving her aside

"Watch it!" She demanded coldly.the guy rolled his eyes and was on his way.

Kira was enraged and was about to follow him when Austin held her hand.

"Don't mind him,he's a jerk!" He said handing her her phone that was on the floor.

"Hands off!" She demanded once again and Austin immediately released her.

Taking one glance at him,she left and one of the four guys that were always with her took the phone and they followed.

"You like her" Debby teased appearing by his side

"What? Of course not!" He quickly replied

"Ohh come on,its soo obvious! You look at her almost like how Kaiden looks at Aliyah" she said

"You're wrong!" He demanded "she's a werewolf" he whispered

"So what?!" Debby asked

"You should be more concerned about telling your best friend the truth and why you kept that from her" he replied changing the subject and left.

Jackson had revealed everything to debrah,when she found a secret weapon compartment in the house a week ago. And she was already in on there secret mission,only that Aliyah was still left in the dark.she has been deliberating on how and when she'll tell her the truth.

"Not going to prom Aliyah?" Laura mocked

"That's none of your business" I replied

"Oh come on! I'm just trying to make small talk. Everyone is curious to see your promposal and yet,Kaiden isn't even here" she added "you know the rules,If you don't have a prom date by the end of the school day,you can't get tickets to prom"

"Back off Laura,she's going to prom" Debby said coming to my defense

"Awww if it isn't the lappy,you're just spiteful cause everyone is still talking about Loyd's promposal to me! Did you see it?" She gloated

"Oh I saw it"she replied laughing "and guess what? I don't care" she said as the bell rang

"You are all required to be in the assembly hall in five minutes for some few announcements by the principal" a voice was heard from the hallway speakers and everyone was seen heading to the hall.

"Seriously though Aliyah,why didn't Kaiden come today? Is everything okay? Are you not going to prom?" Debby asked as we followed the queue of people

"I don't know,he hasn't told me anything.he doesn't pick up my calls,and I don't know how to reach him.Kira wants nothing to do with me" I replied

We got into the assembly hall,took our seats and the principal made his announcements.after he was done and left the hall,the prom committee went on stage and Laura,being the chairperson made some prom announcements of her own.

"Hi everyone!" She greeted enthusiastically and they cheered "Well I'm glad to tell you that we've raised enough money from the prom tickets to get everything we need to add for prom" she said and everyone cheered once more "I hope all of y'all already have your tickets for this weekend cause as you know,once we leave this hall the tickets will no longer be for sell" she said

Then suddenly the projector went on and the screen lit up.everyone curious,Laura and her committee stood aside and stared at the now white screen in front. When words began to appear on the screen,the whole school read aloud.

"WILL! YOU! GO! TO! PROM! WITH! ME?" And they cheered looking around for the person being asked

Then lastly a photograph popped up.not just any photo,it was a picture of Kaiden and I from the championship game.from the angle,it was taken from the audience as it clearly showed Kaiden and I kissing.I was wrapt in his embrace with my hands firmly on his face.his name name seen from my jersey and the number 27 visible on my cheeks.The background was a cloudy sky and a green clear football field,just moments before the game was to start.My cheeks burned red at the sight,as people gasped and admired from the crowd.

"Oh my wow!!" Debby explained nudging me on the shoulders and people began to stare at me,as the mummers could be heard.

The screen then went black as the projector went off.the ringing bell could be heard from the hallway as people began to disperse.

"That was soo cute!" One girl exclaimed

"The cutest!" Another said

"I'm soo jealous right now,comparing to that everyone else's was child's play" one remarked

"How did he even manage to do that? He's not even here today!" Another asked as everyone made there way out of the school

"Tickets for two please" Debby requested from the prom committee and she gave them to her reluctantly

"For you"She said waving them to me

"Thanks Debby" I replied

"Why are you soo gloomy? That has to be the cutest promposal in the history of west view high!" She exclaimed and I forced a smile

"Oh Aliyah,you have fallen in love with him!" Debby said to herself as we went left the school.

we got out and heard the commotion as a black Jeep was parked just outside, Out came five boys and a girl wearing Sandton High football jerseys,the team we played off in the championship. I recognized Jake,from how his team members called him.they got out and looked around at the staring crowd,Jake's wrist was still wrapt in bandages from the damage Kaiden did. it didn't take long for one of them to spot me and they immediately came for me.

"Hey!" The girl pointed at me "We wanna talk to you" She said chewing gum

"Aliyah!" Debby whispered from my side "Relax,I can handle it" I replied and made my way to them.The smirk on Jake's face was visible as I walked to them.

"remember me,darling?" He asked and I looked at him in silence.

"No? Do you remember this then?" He asked again showing his bandaged arm and I smiled.

"Oh so this is funny to you? I'm making a joke right? Where is he?!" He said now in rage.

"Are you death ? or just stupid!" The girl beside him asked

"He's not here,I'll tell him you said hi" I replied and was turning around when the girl reached out and yanked my hand hard.

"Oh he's not here!?" She moaked "Here's a message for him!" She added and pushed me to the ground.

Laura sneered with a smile as Debby was rushing to me but with my hand I signaled for her to stay where she was.I didn't want her involved with any of this.

"Miss?!"

"Go!!" Kira ordered annoyed,to the wolves that were with her to Aliyah's aid.

The four guys immediately shielded Aliyah,by blocking Jake's four friends. In the midst of it all,a motorbike was heard arriving on the scene.He quickly got off,removed his helmet and rushed to my side as I was getting up.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He asked stammering as he checked me thoroughly.

"Am okay,Kaiden. It's okay" I replied dusting myself.

I wasn't ready to get expelled from yet another school,And these idiots weren't worth fighting.But Kaiden didn't seem to care at all,as the rage in his eyes built up.

"Kaiden!" I called but he ignored me and headed directly for Jake,but the girl stopped him with her hand.

"Don't you dare!! Get away from him!" She ordered and his malicious gaze turned to the hand on his chest.

"Don't touch me" he ordered in disgust, shaming her publicly.

"Who do you think you are?!" She yelled

and a grin appeared on his face.

"Who am I? You don't even know who I am and you dared hurt her!?" He asked

"She fell on her own! It was an accident!" She replied

"An accident?!" He repeated and she nodded shamelessly looking at me "like this?!" He said and pushed her hard,so hard that her lower arms got bruised and started bleeding.

Jake immediately rushed to her but Kaiden got a hold of his injured arm and he flinched in pain instantly.

"You wanna deal with me? Look for me! Don't mess with my girl!" He ordered releasing him.

"I hope I made myself clear?!" He repeated to the four guys who nodded. comparing to Kaiden's men,those guys looked like wimps.

"Out!" He ordered and they along with Jake and his girl headed back to the car and drove off.

People cheered as the admiration for him increased.Debby now came to me and I told her that I was okay.

"Aliyah,are you okay?" One of the team members asked and I nodded with a smile.

"She gets bullied and you just watch it happen!" Kaiden demanded still furious

"We're sorry man! Loyd ordered that anyone who interfered wouldn't play the coming game.But we wouldn't have let it get more intense" he defended

"She was pushed to the ground! How much more intensity did you need?!" He asked

"Kaiden" I called looking at him "it's okay.don't mind him,I'm fine" I said and he forced a smile and left.

The guys looked at Kaiden and he gave them a slight node.Kira came towards us and Kaiden placed me behind him.

"Again with this?!" She remarked

"Please Kira,not today" he said,she glared at me and began to leave

"Kira!" I called out and she turned to her side "thank you"

"I didn't do that for you!" She said then left.

"I'll talk to her"

"No don't! I think she's warming up to me." I said with a smile "Kaiden,you can't keep loosing your temper every time something happens to me"

"I can't help it,I can't see you hurt,I can't see you cry.And I won't have mercy on anyone who does that to you!" He said holding onto my hands

"And what if that person is you?" I asked myself.

"Did you like your promposal?" He asked

"I loved it"I replied and hugged him.

"And?" He asked and I giggled

"Yes,I'll go to prom with you" I replied

"Awesome! Let's go,I'll take you home" he said and we went to his bike and he took me home.

"You wanna come in?" I asked as we were outside the house

"Can I ?" He asked and I nodded

Taking a deep breathe he stepped forward and we went in hand in hand.

"They're coming! Keep cool Jackson"

uncle Roy said as they looked at the iPod showing outside surveillance.

"Hello!" I exclaimed getting in "Everyone,I have a guest with me.Uncle Roy,Jackson,this is Kaiden" i introduced

"It's a pleasure to meet you all,again" Kaiden said

"So you are lucky guy" uncle Roy stated and I smiled.

"It's good to see you're using the front door now,and not climbing the walls!" Uncle Roy added and we were startled.

"Wait what?" Jackson asked

"My apologies mr.Reed, I've only done that when I felt the need to checkup on her.And I couldn't necessarily knock on the front door"

"Never mind that now"he replied with a smile

"If anything happens to her-" Jackson started

"No need for the speech,man. Aliyah,means everything to me" he calmly said smiling at me

I held his hand for assurance.Jackson and uncle Roy turned to face to each other in understanding.

"That's Ana" i introduced and they shared a nod

After everything was set,Kaiden's phone rung and Kira's name appeared.

"I have to go now" he whispered to me

"You just got here" I replied

"I'll be back again,don't worry"

Going in for a kiss,he was met with my family's gaze and decided against it, instead he just pecked my forehead.

"Mr Reed,Jackson! It was pleasure meeting you both. I'll be on my way" he said

"That's okay.you are welcomed and please,call me Roy" Uncle Roy said

Jackson and him exchanged nods and he left.

"You didn't have to lick his feet Uncle,jeez!" Jackson said rolling his eyes

"I was just trying to be nice" he mocked with a chuckle

"You could have been a little less obvious,Jax" I reprimanded

"I'm the brother! It's my job to hate him. And why the hell wasn't I told of these 'secret visits'?" He air quoted

"This is exactly why" I replied "Any updates on the attack?"

"Reportedly a group of people have been helping the civilians from the attacks" Uncle Roy read

"Group of people? Who do they work for?" I asked

"That's the strangest thing? They are not from the government! But ever since there appearance,there were no more attacks. And the people there regard them as the heroes" Uncle Roy continued

"We have to go there for questioning!" Jackson said

"Already thought of that.My men went to look for them and they were no where to be found"

"Shapeshifters?" I asked

"Impossible! Why would they attack then go help? That doesn't make any sense" Jackson said

"Maybe they are different from them.Kaiden has his pack,that doesn't necessarily mean there are no other alphas" I said

"Are you defending him?!" Jackson inquired

"All the wolves we've been dealing with have a crescent shaped moon tattoo on there body" Uncle Roy said

"I've never seen that on Kaiden" I said

"That doesn't mean he doesn't have it!" Jackson said in anger "Why are you suddenly defending him? Are you having feelings him?!"

"I wasn't defending him!" I yelled

"A little affection,doesn't mean he loves you! How long has it been,3 months?! I bet he has never even told you,has he?

"Jackson!!" Uncle Roy intervened

"I've been here for four,and you haven't said to me either! At least he cares for me! And you brother?! All you do is think about yourself! That's how it's always been my entire life! So don't go around teaching me- about love!" I said angrily and went upstairs to my room.

"You were out of line" Uncle Roy said

"She's falling for him!! Can't you see it Uncle!" He yelled

"From what I saw,they both are" he replied "but regardless of which she is still on our side,because we are family! She's your younger sister Jackson,not another of our soldiers" Uncle Roy said

With a sigh,he went and followed Aliyah upstairs and knocked on the locked door

"Liyah! Please open the door" he said knocking

"I forgive you.go away!" She yelled sobbing

"I'm coming in!" He said taking a spare key he has and unlocked the door.

She was curled up on her bed with her eyes red.he got closer and sat in bed with her.

"Aliyah,am sorry. You are right! Everything that you said about me,is the truth.Ever since the day of the attack,I've felt like a failure.like I failed them.And that is why I wanna avenge them,And I wanna protect you"

"Jackson you weren't the only one who lost his parents that day,I did to. You were my only family,and when I needed you the most you sent me away!"

"I know,and I'm sorry for that too.i thought it was the only way to protect you.I didn't wanna loose you too"

"You're not gonna loose me!"

"I know first love liyah,I've been there,it's powerful.And if it's fate,it's even stronger.Because of him we lost our parents,I can't loose you to him as well." He said and I hugged him tight tears now filling my eyes.

"You'll never loose me" I reassured
