The past

A woman with silvery blue hair, dark eye bags and pearly white skin was running with her protruding belly from the chaos behind her. Her grey eyes looked forward with determination as she approached a palace. It was her palace. Without paying the rolling of thunder and rupturing of the earth much mind she entered it, found a suitable place to hide and hid in it.

It seemed as if that was the perfect hiding spot from the seeker as the war happening just outside it never reached the castle. The castle was desolate, a few broken things here and there but they looked man made. The woman breathed slowly to slow down her fast beating heart, any rise in her blood pressure would not be good for the babies.

She caressed her big tummy and looked down, then, she was appalled by what she saw. Her stomach was covered in warm blood, it was hard to notice because of her dark coloured dress but funny that she had to see her injury before she knew she was injured.

Her skin was torn oddly, showing some of her muscles. The wound went deeper from the left side of her rib diagonally to her belly button. Blood was already clotting over it, hiding her babies from her view. She pulled out her gown, leaving her only in an underskirt and sports bra. Not even bothering to wonder how she got the wound, she searched her body for more injuries.

There was nothing much apart from few scratches her and there, at least compared to the wound on her torso. Seeing this she made an inaudible sigh, left her hiding spot and came to the palace entrance. She couldn't stay here. She was very close to the wrath of the gods. Once they sensed her babies, it was over. She raised her skirt over her tummy to cover her wound and give her allowance for movement, then placed her hand under it.

She ran

The mortals that saw her wondered why a pregnant woman was running in the middle of a battlefield instead of being with her husband, waiting for delivery. But she was still far from delivery, it only looked that way because she had twins, she was just six months pregnant. She paid their stares no heed as she held her belly carefully, crossed a narrow bridge and entered a temple.

The temple was a black structure that seemed to be made from burnt concrete, a dragon must have released it's might on it. The woman hesitated for a second, looked back at the battle where different races were fighting different powers, there, people died within seconds. She took a deep breath, curbed her fear and entered the temple.
