"Who is she? Your mum?" Lucifer asked making Kai pause in his tale.

"Yeah, she is" he replied, and resumed talking but was interrupted by another question.

"You're... a twin?" Lucifer asked, he was beyond surprised that there was another... You know... 'Kai' out there.

"Yeah, but we're not identical twins... We might even be opposites" he said rolling his eyes when he saw the expression on Lucifer's face, he knew what he was thinking. Lucifer nodded slowly, it seemed he wasn't convinced, but another question popped in his mind.

"What about your mom, what was her name? Is she still alive?" Lucifer asked.

When Kai heard it, he lowered his head and said in a plain voice, "Celine, her name was Celine... and no... She's not alive"

Lucifer couldn't see his expression, but decided to drop the matter since his mother was dead, it would be painful to talk about. But he was confused about one thing, and Kai spoke, clarifying his thoughts.

"You see... My mum died a very long time ago, even before me and my brother were born, but..." He looked up and turned to Lucifer, "Her memories didn't die, they came to us when we came of age... We wouldn't even understand why we were so unlucky otherwise..." He continued in a strained voice, cleared his throat and resumed the tale.

As Celine approached the temple, she saw seven altars made of large stone tablets arranged in a circle with a diamond shaped tile in the middle. She looked at the blackened dome shaped roof and the pillars attached to the structure and confirmed her suspicion. A dragon had burned the temple, but it still held.

She was reassured when she saw this and climbed the staircase up into the structure. She arrived at a dimly lit room where worshipers sacrifices were kept, but all that was left was just burnt ash... A few burning pieces illuminating the room, it seems it wasn't long when the dragon attacked, but she saw no signs of a dragon though. She looked around and noticed scribbles on the wall in a language she didn't understand. She moved forward, then she noticed some yellow papers in a corner of the room, as she touched it though, it disintegrated. Celine sighed and spoke,

"I guess I just have to wait here till my wounds heal, at least the gods can't come here" she said in an almost inaudible voice. This was the temple of a dead god, other gods couldn't access the temples of each other except the owner of the temple themselves, but humans could. Now that the god of the temple was dead, most probably killed by the dragon, it was like a safe haven for mortals, for her and her babies. She licked her pale lips and looked for something to drink. There was nothing much apart from ash though, so she gave up, sighed and said, "I will probably die from thirst first".

Celine stood up, wanting to check other rooms in the temple but stopped midway since the blinding pain in her stomach paralyzed her. "No- no... It can't be... It surely can't be... I- it's just six months!" She said incoherently, a layer of sweat forming on her face from the dread she felt. She brought her shaking hands to her stomach, she became even paler than she already was. Her wound didn't close as she was feeling a different, smaller bulge there.

A head.

Her baby's head.

She raised her skirt hurriedly, not even caring for her wound anymore and shivered from what she saw. Her pregnancy... Her babies.

Celine dropped limply on the ground still staring at her tummy. The wound on her stomach was no longer a wound... It expanded as one of her babies head was peeking out of it. It looked like a forceful operation with a blunt knife. She weakly brought one of her hands to his head that was covered in viscous liquid and smudges of blood. She left it there and smiled weakly... It was all for naught.

Until...

~ba dump-ba dump...

Celine's eyes widened when she felt a weak pulse from her baby's head. She smiled brilliantly making her appear heavenly with her astounding beauty.

"H-he's... He's alive!" She screamed happily despite her cracked voice and looked down at her baby. He had dark hair, just like his father, even though it was barely visible...she could see it. His eyes were closed shut... probably they couldn't even open yet, his ears were still joined to his skull due to him not being fully developed yet. She was so ecstatic, she was able to see her baby, too bad she couldn't see the second, she was still very happy though. She knew she didn't have much time left, especially now with her wound becoming bigger. Her babies would be safe, even though she died, at least... They could feed on her energy and hopefully... Someone will come before she becomes insufficient for their survival.

Thinking this, Celine rested her back on a nearby wall, cast.a loving glance at her baby and slept, her hand protecting her tummy and the baby.
