Handsome, but crazy

"Right," he said. "At first I thought it was complete nonsense, but now that I'm sitting here, I think she's right." Julian smiled at me from ear to ear.

I let the last part slip away from me and focused on the first part of his sentence. He must say those kinds of things to all woman. "Why did you think it was nonsense at first," I asked him.

Julian shrugged. "I believe that you don't need a relationship to feel complete. In fact, I think you have to be happy with yourself and your own life first."

"Do you mean to say that a relationship should only be a nice addition?" I asked.

"yes," Julian nodded. "I think, when you assume that a relationship is the complete batter of your cake, that's very unhealthy. You should have all your ingredients at home. A relationship should only be the icing on the cake." Once again, his eyes sparkled when he spoke.

I took a sip of my coke. It's the first sip I'd taken since he came to sit at the table. "I'd love for you to stop dating others," he said thoughtfully.

Well, that was quick. I hadn't even finished my coke and he was already being clingy.

"Marry me," Julian suddenly asked me. The coke that I just wanted to swallow, flew out of my mouth in a straight jet. I coughed trying to catch my breath.

I patted myself on the chest and Julian came closer, rubbing my back. "Are you okay?" he sweetly asked me.

"Take a deep breath, cherry," he teased me again. I rolled my eyes at him and he crookedly smiled.

Julian held my gaze intensely. I felt like a mouse caught by his gaze. "Marry me," he said again and trailed the side of my face. It wasn't a question.

For heavens sake… what was wrong with him "Be serious," I told him with a hysteric laugh. But he meant it, that much was clear.

"Julian, I have known you for just under half an hour, and you don't know me either," I said firmly. "That's reasonable," he agreed without sounding sincere. His lips twitched a little and it seemed like he was thinking deeply.

"Fine, you stop dating others, we date for half a year and then you decide if you want to marry me." He didn't flicker a muscle while saying that. For such an incredibly sexy appearance, he said the most bizarre things.

"I mean, I don't need those six months," Julian said steadfastly. "But I'll give you those to think about whether you want to live your life with me."

I wondered if I ended up in some kind of movie. Was this a prank? "Okay, and you're sure you want to marry me, because?"

I was caught off guard by his smile, making it hard for me to think straight. "I appreciate you being so straightforward, and that's why I'm going to tell you right away," he said leaning forward towards me. My heart was drumming in my throat, he cologne lingered in the air.

"Over the past month, my team has learned all sorts of things about you. You like to listen to quiet songs and preferably from male singers. You rarely watch TV and you like to read and write books. In your free time, you go out with your children. You started at the very bottom and look where you are now," he whispered to me as he got closer.

"You are a go-getter, a woman with great perseverance, and on top of that a great mother. In a month's time, I know how many noble deeds you've committed. It varies from fetching bottles of water for vagrants, to God know what.... All the while you work very hard for the roof over your head," he breathed inches away from my lips.

My mouth hung open and Julian gently closed my mouth with his hand under my chin. "You spied on me," I said almost angrily. My chest heaved and my core was damp unvolentarily.

"No, I didn't spy on you, my team tracked you and investigated you the past month," Julian stated and sat back in his chair.

I got up. This man was perhaps the most handsome man I had ever seen in an unusual way, but he was dead-crazy. "Emilie, please," he pleaded, taking my hand. I strongly believed that I should run away, but his eyes were warm and I tried to take a deep breath again.

I closed my eyes. Maybe I would regret this later, but I let him guide me back to my seat so he could explain. Stupid. Yes, I knew I was very stupid.

"If you want me to stay put, you must have a very good explanation," I warned him. Julian did not let go of my hand and put both our hands on the table as we took out seat again.

"Don't be mad at me," he said sultryly. It strangely had a calming effect on me.

"Explain yourself further," I commanded him. Asmall smile danced on his lips again.

"You have children, you need to know how important it is to be careful with who you meet and with whom you enter into relationships. I think that's also very important," he explained and swallowed noticeably.

This was starting to be a very strange comparison if you asked me. "But you don't have children," I made clear. "That's right," he agreed. "But a lot of other responsibilities," he offered.

"So... you want to compare your companies to my kids, to make a point that it's okay to spy on someone?" I sighed. Handsome but crazy, that could only happen to me.

"In recent weeks I thought that I already experienced everything during my dates, but Julian, you take the crown," I said in frustration. Julian laughed and then got serious. "From now on, you only dated me," he dictated without room for negotiation.

Julian wiped his curls from his face, trying to regain his calm. "It certainly wasn't my intention to make you angry, cherry. I just can't afford to hook some crazy person who wants me for the wrong reasons," he said dryly.

I stared at him and Julian smiled sweetly. His mesmerizing smile was in huge contrast to the authority in his voice. "I know you can only make a first impression once, but I'm going to try to restore mine in our next meeting."

"Our what?" He was really crazy. "Only if you want, of course," he offered casually with a crooked smile that should be ilegal. For heavens sake, was I really considering his offer? What's wrong with me?

"Only if you stop spying on me, and stop talking about getting married and stuff," I said laying out my demands.

Julian leaned back in his chair. He put his index finger on his lips, as if preventing to laugh out loud.
