The Mirko Hero Work-Study! Leonidus' Hero Debut!

I met with Mirko today after Mr. Aizawa taught us everything we needed to know about our Hero-Work Studies over the past few days. It was just me, standing in front of this giant agency building. I'd be here for quite a while I'd imagine. I walked up to the front doors, and they slid open without me having to open them myself. There she was, in front of me, one of the greatest Pros in Japan.

"Mirko-san, thank you for allowing me to conduct my Hero Work-Studies with you!" I exclaimed.

"No problem, come on in, we've gotta lot of work to do!" She grinned.

We entered some type of conference room looking area. There, on a large screen, was the map of the city. Someone under "Target" was named "Black-Heart". I looked at the screen, then back at Ms. Mirko.

"So, does every villain have some sort of cliché edgy name or something?" I joked.

She chuckled and propped her feet up on a table, "Probably, but this guy's no joke. He was the one who killed former Pro Hero Overdrive last week. Not to mention, he's killed countless heroes here already. What he's doing here in Japan, I've got no clue."

This guy... Killed my Father? She must've been tracking him down for a while, she's got tons of leads on him! Where do I even start on the info she's got as well? His Quirk is a decaying flower thing. He's got supernatural strength and speed, abnormal reflexes. This guy was 6'11", wearing some sort of mask with horns on his head.

"I understand that he killed your Father, right?" Mirko questioned.

"Yeah... He did." I replied.

She got up and put her hand on my shoulder, "Don't let this get in your head, kid. Now, come on, I just got a call that he's nearby. Put on your hero costume and let's fuck him up!"

[20 Minutes Later...]

We got to the area that Black-Heart was stated to be at. But there wasn't anything wrong, from what it seemed.

"Alright, where is this guy?" Mirko muttered.

We looked around, but we couldn't find him. We ended up on top of a roof overlooking the city streets below us.

"How did he die?" I asked.

"From what I've gathered, the bastard ambushed your Dad. It didn't look like it was planned, though." She responded.

I tightened my fist, "If I never had this damn Quirk, maybe he'd still be alive..."

"Woah, woah, what's that all about? What's wrong?" She questioned.

"If I just never came to Japan..." I muttered.

Mirko slapped me before I said anything else.

"Get a hold of yourself, kid! If you keep doubting yourself, then you can just forget about finding Black-Heart!" She told me.

Then, we heard a loud explosion nearby. Our eyes looked towards where we heard the sound coming from.

"Bingo!" Mirko exclaimed.

We rushed to where we heard the explosion. There he was! What luck this was, finding him the first day of my Work Study! As we made our way there, I noticed other Pro Heroes scattered about the area.

"Well, if it isn't little Ms. Mirko. I've been waiting for this! And who's this? Your sidekick?" He started laughing.

Without hesitation, I rushed him. I caught him with a spinning kick to the jaw, which made him stumble back.

He clutched his chin, "Wow, for a student, you hit hard... I like that!"

I looked at him and went into Mode One.

"I wasn't even using my Quirk, dumbass. If that's all it takes to hurt you, then you're nothing more than an ant under my foot." I coldly scowled.

Black Heart ran towards me with incredible speed, this wasn't the place to get cocky, if I do, I'm done for!

"You've really fucked up now!" I heard Mirko shout at Black-Heart.

Mirko and I charged right towards him. I hit Black-Heart straight in the face with my fist, we rushed him with a flurry of kicks and strikes, he wasn't countering any of them. Why? Was he just letting us toughen him up? Mirko came in and slammed him into the ground with a flying stomp! Something wasn't right, he was just letting us beat the hell out of him. I looked at him as he got up, he wiped blood off his face.

"So, I supposed you've already figured out something's wrong, Leonidus?" Black-Heart smirked.

What in the hell was he... Wait, my hero costume, some parts were... cut off?! No, he didn't use his Quirk, in the time frame from us striking and kicking, to now, there was no way he should have been able to use his Quirk!

"Gah!" I heard Mirko shout in pain as she fell to the ground.

"M-Mirko-san!" I yelled as I ran over to her.

Her leg, there was dark pink flowers around it, but how? It looked as if it was slowly tightening around her leg.

"Heh, looks like you both miscalculated, huh? Every strike you two did against me, activated my Quirk. Fortunately for you, it seems it only affected your suit, Leonidus!" He yelled.

Mirko was hurt bad, and he didn't have to do anything but sit there!

"The only way to stop it is if you can kill me. But that would look bad on a hero? Right!?" He mocked.

"What's your next move, Leonidus?" Black-Heart cackled.

He was right, but if he thought some dumb ideology was going to stop me from saving Mirko, he was dead wrong! I stood up and looked at him.

"Alright, I'll play your game. Just so you know, I was already thinking about killing you, even before I knew you killed my Father. Mark my words, I'm sending you back to hell." I responded.

Behind my back, I was preparing my Flash Cannon move, hopefully he didn't notice!

"Now we're talking!" Black-Heart grinned.

Black-Heart came charging after me, now was my chance!

"Flash Cannon!" I yelled.

As I threw it right at him, it hit him in the chest, and I opened my hand and my move exploded!

I rushed in as he was dazed and held out all my fingertips at him, "Stardust Shoot: 10 Fingers!"

I noticed that he charged right through my Stardust Shoot! It was hurting him however! Black-Heart gut punched me, then sent me into the ground. He grabbed my leg and threw me into the air! This wasn't good! I couldn't touch him unless I wanted to end up like Mirko! I could heal myself, but I would be wasting energy and I need every bit of it as it is! I rebounded in the air as he was coming towards me.

"Diamond Buster!" I shouted.

It sent him into a nearby building! I landed back down on the ground and clutched at my side. My lungs were burning up and my entire body was near its limit. This guy, he really was something else! I was almost out of breath, every hit this guy landed hurt bad! Worse than bad! I noticed other heroes showed up, I couldn't let them get hurt too!

"I'm sorry but, stay back! Mirko-san needs help! She should be-" I yelled to them.

Before I could tell them, I got punched in the face by Black Heart. He sent me through an office building and out to the other side!

"O-Okay...Th-This... Is bad." I muttered.

I slowly got up; my entire left side of my suit was destroyed. I noticed that he went towards Mirko and the other heroes that were here! I activated Mode One and went after him. Right before he could attack any of the heroes, I tackled him out of the air and into the ground. He used his Quirk to knock me back off of him.

I slowly got back up, Black-Heart looked at me, "Aw, what's wrong? Slowing down? Here, let me help you then!"

He came after me, I barely managed to dodge him, the debris he sent towards me slammed into my left arm. I got back up, clutching my now broken left arm, Black-Heart turned around and grinned at me.

"Let's end this, shall we?!" Black-Heart cackled.

He used his Quirk to cover his entire body with glowing purple thorns. Was this how he killed my Father? I looked back behind me after I heard shouting, in the building behind me, a police officer was guiding people out to safety. If... If I couldn't stop Black-Heart... All of these people would be killed! I stared at him, I put all of my Overdrive into my right arm.

"I... I won't let you cause any more harm!" I shouted.

We both charged at each other and clashed! The thorns began to slowly envelope my fist. I thought I had the upper hand, but it was just too much! Black-Heart began to push me back, I held my ground as best as I could, the concrete below me started to come up.

"What a fitting end! Wouldn't you say, Leonidus?!" Black Heart laughed.

Was this it? I noticed tears were streaming down my face, from both pain and fear. This was it, wasn't it? This is how I die, never getting to tell everyone that I love them. Why did I even do this? Why?! I was in over my head with this, I'm just a scared kid fighting a goddamn losing battle, I'm not strong whatsoever! I'm just a damn coward...

[Flashback]

"I don't want to be a damn scared kid anymore! I'm tired of running but... I just can't do it!" I cried.

"Alyx, its alright to be scared, but you can't let fear take over your mind. You have to conquer that fear one of these days, once you do, that's when you'll know you'll never be that same scared little kid again!" My Mother reassured.

[Present Day...]

"You've got this bro! Don't give up!" Kirishima's voice echoed.

"Amnesia! Don't you dare fuck this up!" Bakugo's voice scolded.

"Alyx, please! Do it!" Momo's voice pleaded.

[Flashback]

*THIRD PERSON*

"Alyx, I'll be there to protect you, no matter where I am! But you need to promise me one thing. You can do that for Papa, right?" Darren smiled.

"Uh huh! Yeah!" Alyx nodded.

Darren picked Alyx up and held him in his arms, "You've gotta be just as strong as me and Mama. You need to be as strong as Ms. America!"

"I promise, Papa! I'll be even stronger than that!" Alyx beamed.

[Present Day]

*LEONIDUS' P.O.V.*

"You won't WIN...!" I muttered, "I... I can't let them down!!"

My Overdrive was starting to overpower him! It slowly started to glow brighter as I pushed his fist back. My Overdrive was sparking off of him! I felt nothing but Overdrive pour out of my eyes and my scar. The Overdrive surrounding my arm started flaring out even higher than before!

"BOOST FIRE: TIMES 99... OVERDRIVE FIIIIIST!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

It broke through his Quirk, my Overdrive Fist sent him into the air, it exploded in a bright violet-blue light! The ground beneath me had shattered and dozens of sparkles filled the sky. I held my right arm up and sent Overdrive into it.

"Father... I... I did it... I... Won..." I whispered.

I dropped to the ground; I couldn't move at all. I did it, Dad... I did it! I felt tears go down my cheeks, was this what being a hero felt like? Before I fell unconscious, I could feel the Heat Energy of those two people that visited me. I knew my Father was proud of me.

*THIRD PERSON*

Black-Heart's Quirk disappeared from Mirko's leg. She was helped up by Death Arms and Kamui Woods. She watched as the Overdrive dispersed from the sky. It lit up almost like a beacon of hope and victory!

"T-Take me to him... I need to see if he's alright." Mirko panted.

"No, you're too hurt to be-" Death Arms tried to say.

"I don't care, damn it! I'll drag my ass over there myself if I have to!" She interrupted.

Kamui Woods looked at Death Arms, "I can take her, you go help the others."

He helped Mirko walk over to Alyx. As they got to him, Mirko saw him, he was beaten, bloody, and unconscious. But the one thing that stood out was the smile on his face.

She grinned at his unconscious smile, "Atta boy... You really are something, Leonidus-san."

Mirko knelt down and picked Alyx up. She smiled at him, admiring how much of a hero he's proved himself to be in such short time.

"How's the raid going, do you know?" Mirko asked.

"I'm unsure, I'm assuming that they're handling the Shie Hassaikai well." Kamui replied.

"Just keep me updated, will ya? For now, we need to get this place cleaned up." She continued.
