Overcoming Sight? The Unfortunate Truth!

I woke up today, got dressed for school, and reluctantly put a wrap over my eyes. This was going to be quite the day today!

"Hey, can anyone come up to my room? Mr. Aizawa told me that I had to put those wraps back on my eyes for a while." I telepathically relayed to everyone.

Within a few minutes, I heard a knock at my door. I made my way over there and opened it.

"Hey! I can help you out." Sato told me.

I smiled and nodded; I didn't expect him to lift me up!

"W-Woah! Holy hell, give a guy a warning please!" I exclaimed.

Sato laughed and we went downstairs. As we headed to school, I wondered about how I would even compare to everyone now that I'm basically blind again. Sato helped me into my seat, and we all waited for Mr. Aizawa to arrive.

I heard the classroom door slide open, "Alright everyone, you know the drill."

All of us that were talking quickly quieted down.

"So today, we'll be starting up on more ultimate move training. Many of you have already established another move to add to your arsenal, keep it up. Now, to address the current situation with Leonidus, I'm sure you've told everyone already so I'll keep it brief. He will still be joining us for classes and Hero Training, he'll need to take it easy so please don't let him do anything extreme." Mr. Aizawa told us.

He dismissed us all to go put on our hero costumes, which Sato again carried me to the changing room. I actually had no trouble putting on my hero costume, I was kind of getting used to the feeling of not being able to see.

"Hey, Amnesia." I heard Bakugo's voice.

I looked over in the direction that I heard Bakugo's voice. What did he need from me?

"You're training with me today, got it?" He continued.

"Oh, okay!" I replied.

"Alright, here's the deal," Bakugo announced, "You can still fight, right?"

"Of course, I wouldn't be standing in front of you if I couldn't." I responded.

"Good." He muttered.

I felt him come rushing towards me, I activated Mode Two and dodged out of the way. I regained my bearings and got up, where did he go? He wasn't making any noise, is he waiting for me to move? Under my wraps, I closed my eyes, I couldn't look for his Heat Energy, so I had to feel for any changes in the air. I felt changes in the air above me.

"Gotcha!" I thought to myself.

I put up a shield and I heard him hit it.

"Looks like you CAN fight, huh?" Bakugo cackled.

I smirked and felt him jump off my shield.

"How about you use that Infinite Mode or whatever the hell Annie was talking about?" Bakugo asked.

"Well, if I'm going to be honest, I'd rather face all of you at once before I do that." I told him.

I could tell what I said got underneath Bakugo's ego. Which to be quite honest, isn't exactly too hard to do.

"ARE YOU SAYING I'M WEAKER THAN YOU?!" He shouted.

"Well, I'm not saying that, you're strong as it is. No offense but I'm saying that you wouldn't be able to handle me at that level. Plus, I'm not even sure if I can go into it." I replied.

I heard him take a deep breath in and then back out.

"Alright, fine. EVERYONE GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE!!" He screamed.

I stood there for a few seconds and I peeked out of my wraps, there everyone was!

"Alright, get into that fucking Infinite Mode and let's do this!" Bakugo demanded.

"K-Kacchan, what do you mean? Wouldn't this be unfair? Also Mr. Aizawa said-" Deku asked.

"Listen, Amnesia said that he would rather take us all on when he's in Infinite Mode. AND IF HE'S LYING, I'LL KILL THE BASTARD!!!" He interrupted.

"Alright, Alyx! We'll be giving you everything we've got!" I heard Uraraka say.

I smiled at them, "Alright, let's do it!"

I got in a charge up position, "HAAAAAAAH!!!"

I felt that feeling of Infinite Mode rush over me! Going into this was starting to get a bit easier, but maintaining it, that was a different story.

"Okay, come at me whenever you want!" I exclaimed.

I felt 4 people rush towards me, I dodged their attacks and jumped into the air. I felt something dart towards me in the air, I reached for it, and it was Tsu's tongue! It wrapped around my arm and she slammed me into the ground with it!

I heard Iida yell, "Here I come!"

I grabbed Iida's leg and threw him to the side. I felt so many changes in the air, it felt like someone was zipping around me!

"Manchester..." I heard in the distance, "...SMASH!!!"

The ground beneath me crumbled as I dodged Deku's move. I was in the air about to do an attack of my own, but my body just snapped in pain! I didn't know what was going on, but I felt a huge mallet thwack me on the back as I lost my Infinite Mode. I went flying and hit the ground with a large boom! I coughed up blood, which was honestly something I haven't done in a while. I felt Shinso's hand on my shoulder.

"Hey, are you alright?" He asked me.

He helped me up and I heard a few of the others run over.

"Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry!" I heard Momo apologize.

"H-Hey, it's... It's fine. I've been through a lot worse." I reassured her.

Shinso used his sleeve to wipe the blood off of my face. Something wasn't right, why couldn't I use Infinite Mode now? Shinso and Koda helped me get to Recovery Girl's office.

"Are you sure you'll be okay? That looked dangerous, Alyx!" Koda noted.

I nodded my head, "Yeah, I'll be fine. Like I said, I've been through a lot worse!"

My chest was hurting though, like, really hurting!

"We're almost there, we just need to go down some stairs." Shinso told me.

Shinso really felt like Mr. Aizawa, their Heat Energies had some similarities too! We went down the stairs, and continued down the rest of the hallway.

"Oh? Alyx? What brings you here?" I heard her ask me.

Shinso and Koda helped me sit down on the bed, "Well, I think I might've overused my Quirk. My chest has been killing me since I used my Infinite Mode technique."

I took the wrap off and put it on my lap.

"Oh dear!" Recovery Girl exclaimed.

"Huh? What is it? Is there something wrong?" I frantically questioned.

"Damn, Alyx, your eyes look worse for wear." Shinso observed.

Recovery Girl grabbed a small mirror and gave it to me. Holy hell! Shinso was right! The whites of my eyes were almost completely red! Not to mention the color of my eyes were now more of a faded blue than a bright blue.

"That Quirk of yours must've done some serious damage to your eyes, young man! If you aren't more careful with those eyes of yours, you could very well forget about taking the easier road to becoming a hero!" Recovery Girl lectured.

My heart sank into my chest, was I really screwing over my chances at becoming a Pro? I felt Recovery Girl's lips hit my forehead and she healed me.

"There, that should help out with your chest problems. Your eyes should've been healed up just a bit, but that's all I can do for them. I've been told by Mr. Aizawa and Principal Nezu that you need to heal them naturally. I highly suggest that you avoid using your Quirk until your eyes have fully recovered!" She told me.

I nodded my head and Recovery Girl put new wraps over my eyes.

"These should feel a lot better than the ones you had on before." Recovery Girl continued.

She was right, they felt a lot more comfortable and colder than the ones I had on before.

"Right, thank you, Ms. Recovery Girl." I responded.

"No problem, just please be more careful with those eyes!" She advised.

I got up from the bed and Shinso and Koda helped me back to the dorms.

"So, what are you going to do now, Alyx?" Koda asked.

"I'm not really sure, I guess the only thing I can do is my best. I'll just have to take it slow for a while, which means I doubt I can do any sort of training anymore, let alone hero work." I replied.

We entered the dorms, and Shinso helped me sit down on the couch.

[2 Hours Later...]

"So, what happened, mon ami?" Aoyama asked.

"Well, it's a bit of a long story, I guess? So..." I told everyone about my eyes and how using Infinite Mode almost killed me.

"Woah, that's not good! What about your hero work? You can still do that right?" Uraraka wondered.

I leaned forward a bit, "As much as I hate saying this, I don't think so. I doubt Mr. Aizawa would let me step foot into a battle against a villain, which I don't blame him at all. I don't even think I can use my Quirk anymore."

"Well, hey! At least we'll have someone around to keep watch of the dorms! Right?" Kaminari laughed.

I heard the familiar smack of Jiro's earphone jacks against Kaminari's face.

"Would you be serious for 5 seconds, please? That's not a comment you should be making right now." Jiro scolded.

"Well, he's not wrong. I guess I'll be kind of like a house keeper or something for a while." I smiled with a bit of a dry laugh.

The mood of the room lightened up just a bit. I guess since I was sort of in good spirits, everyone else is as well, even if it's a little bit.

"So, you can't just heal your eyes? Wouldn't that be more effective than waiting for them to heal naturally?" Iida questioned.

I shook my head, "If I did, they wouldn't be as strong as before. Which means I'd have to go through this whole process again but longer."

I honestly couldn't stand this whole not being able to see stuff, and I could tell everyone felt what I was feeling. As night came, I laid in bed. Was this really how I was going to spend my second year at U.A.? Hopefully my eyes get better soon, I really didn't want to miss out on any hero work or training. Speaking of that, I haven't really heard from Momo today besides this morning and when I was training with Bakugo and everyone else. I heard my balcony door slide open, I sat up from my bed and heard it close.

"O-Oh. It's just me, boo!" Momo called out.

Boo? That was... Definitely something new.

"Oh, sorry. Usually nobody comes through my balcony door to enter my room." I told her.

She giggled at me, "Well, that makes me the first then!"

She climbed into my bed and sat next to me. Hmm... Momo's tone, it felt off. Maybe she was tired from the training today? As she cuddled up next to me, I couldn't help but notice that her Heat Energy felt off as well. Was she starting to get sick or something?
