Another HPSC Scheme? An Understanding Heart

Momo and I talked for quite a while, we didn't even mention that bill the HPSC is trying to make. She told me pretty much everything that was on her mind.

"So now my question is," She continued, "Why have you been so distant again? Are you hiding something from us?"

I didn't exactly want to tell her, but there isn't any sense in lying or keeping it in anymore. I sat up and sighed.

"Do you really want to know?" I asked.

"Yes, I do, tell me!" Momo demanded.

I rested my forearms on my knees, "I've been distant because... I don't want to put my problems on you guys. I know you all have been dealing with a lot, so I didn't want to bother any of you with it."

Momo's face changed from subtle anger to sorrowful realization.

"Someone's gotta be strong, right? I just have to keep smiling and hope that nobody can see through it. If you don't feel sorry for me, I understand. After all, being distant is the reason why you're upset with me." I continued.

I got up to get dressed for bed, after that, I turned off my light and sat back down on my bed. I didn't even realize that tears were coming down my face. Momo didn't say a word as she hugged me. I leaned my head on hers and was going to say something else but Momo stopped me by kissing me.

"How long?" She asked as she wiped the tears off my face.

"What do you mean?" I responded.

"How long have you felt like this, Alyx?" She restated.

I sat there and thought for a bit, "I guess ever since my Father died, that's when I started to bottle things up."

"That's... Over a year, right?" She questioned.

"Yeah... Why are you being this specific?" I answered.

She smiled, "I'm calculating the number of kisses I'll give you, that's why!"

"Good grief... I'm gonna assume 50?" I laughed.

"Double that and you've got a deal!" Momo exclaimed.

[The Next Day...]

"Good morning everyone, welcome back to class. I hope you all are feeling a lot better than before. We'll be starting off today with a quick little test, head into the changing rooms and we'll meet outside on the P.E. Grounds." Mr. Aizawa instructed.

We all got up and walked out of the door.

"So, are you all doing okay? I can heal you guys if any of you are feeling pain." I reminded them.

"I think we're alright, I haven't heard anyone complain about pains yet." Deku answered.

I nodded and we continued our walk to the locker rooms.

[10 Minutes Later...]

We got changed into our gym clothes and met Mr. Aizawa back at the P.E. Grounds. There were robots scattered about the field, dozens and dozens of them, that were deactivated.

"Alright, here's what we're doing, we'll be conducting a quick warm up test that'll help you warm up to your Quirks. You'll each be given 12 robots to defeat, I can either go down the list or one of you can volunteer to go first." Mr. Aizawa explained.

I raised my hand, "Ooo! May I go first, please Mr. Aizawa?"

He nodded and I stepped forward. The other robots moved away from the area and 12 stood stationary. I smirked and instead of using my Overdrive, I used my Rage Quirk instead! The two shadow arms appeared on my back and floated above my arms. The red and black smoke flowed fiercely around me.

"W-Woah! You're using your Rage Quirk? That's fuckin' manly bro!" Kirishima shouted.

"I can't say I haven't tested out all of its abilities yet, so if you don't mind, could one of you make me angry?" I asked.

Everyone stood silent, I stood there and waited for them to say something. I turned around and looked at them.

"Any day now, I'm not gonna sit here and wait." I told them.

"Alyx, how can you see us if you don't have any irises?" Kaminari wondered.

"Oh, that's because I-" I tried to explained.

Bakugo exploded, "SHUT THE FUCK UP AMNESIA AND GET GOING ALREADY! WE DON'T FUCKING CARE!"

"NO, YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP! NOBODY ASKED FOR YOUR INPUT BAKUGO!!" I shouted back.

I felt two more shadow arms burst out of my back.

"FUCK YOU!" Bakugo roared.

"FUCK YOU!" I snapped back.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Bakugo screamed.

"RAAAAAAAAAHH!!!" I screamed back.

I felt two more arms burst out of my back! I faced the robots in front of me and grinned.

"Alright, I'm gonna tear you useless fuckin' scrap dipshits to pieces!" I yelled.

The robots activated and charged towards me. I pounced on one of them, ripping it to shreds with my extra arms. I grabbed one that was about 10 feet away from me and slammed it into the ground. I stood in the middle of the robots and let them group up around me. I twisted my body and spun around in a circle.

"BLOOD RAGE TWISTER!!" I shouted.

My shadow arms twirled around like an intense red & black tornado as I slashed all the robots around me. I stopped spinning and stumbled around a bit, I was really dizzy! I shook it off and blinked a few times.

"Phew! That was fun!" I exclaimed.

My shadow arms retracted and I reverted out of my Rage Quirk. I looked back at my gym clothes, there were holes in them, but at least my back wasn't bleeding!

"Mr. Aizawa, may I take my shirt off? It's kind of ruined." I questioned.

I turned around and showed him the very large holes in my shirts, it was almost as if my shirt never had a back to begin with!

"Do whatever you'd like, as long as you aren't trying to kill one of your classmates, I really don't care." He responded.

I nodded and returned back to the line. I took my gym top off and threw it behind me. I looked over at Kirishima who was staring intently at my arms.

"What did you do? Tell me!" Kirishima beamed.

"Oh, uh... Man, I honestly don't remember! I had to do a lot of exercises everyday though! Maybe Endeavor still has my workout plan?" I wondered.

I watched as everyone used their Quirks for the first time in a while. I glanced over at Uraraka who was looking a lot happier than before. I turned my attention back to the warm up and smiled. After the warm up, we returned to class and continued our studies.

[4 Hours Later....]

I don't think I've ever been so glad to be at lunch before! The math class we had beforehand was suuuuper boring. I sat down next to Momo and everyone else.

"So, I'm assuming you've all heard about the Student Hero in Training Law that the Hero Public Safety Commission purposed to the Hero Association and the government?" Iida asked.

"Yeah, I've seen it. It sounds very promising, protecting us from major villain events is definitely a plus! It sounds like they're trying to actually do some good again." Momo remarked.

Everyone had agreed but some of us disagreed on somethings. I kept my mouth shut, after everything Hawks showed me, I was still skeptical.

"What do you think Alyx? You've been awfully quiet about this whole situation." Iida questioned.

"O-Oh... I... I don't really have an opinion on it. I guess I haven't really read up on it yet." I replied.

Jiro lowered one of her eyebrows, "You haven't read it? Usually, you're all about this kind of stuff."

"True, but I've been working on my Rage Quirk and I've been trying to study, so I haven't really paid any attention to it." I lied.

Thankfully, they believed it, except for Momo. I could tell she knew that I knew something about the law, but I didn't want to say it. I think Deku & Bakugo felt the same way as her.

"I don't mean to get political or anything, but what's garlic bread?" Kaminari joked.

"Kaminari, for the love of God, do you think before you speak?" Jiro wondered.

"Psshh... Of course! How else do you think I can talk, silly?" Kaminari scoffed.

I put my head in my hands and sighed, "Good fucking grief..."

[20 Minutes Later...]

We were dismissed for the day since Present Mic still hadn't returned to U.A. Apparently, he was still missing, hopefully he was alright! As we returned to the dorms, Bakugo wanted to talk to me in private. I followed him up to Deku's room, inside waiting was both Deku and Momo. I sat down on a chair and Bakugo closed the door behind him.

"If you're wondering, I already know everything about the law, and I don't agree with it." I admitted.

"Why? It seems as if they're doing something right, the HPSC is trying to protect us this time." Momo argued.

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, Momo. Just because they're doing something that's seemingly good, doesn't mean that it's TRULY good. I fully stand by them not wanting us to get involved in major conflicts, but to further restrict us from protecting our family and friends? I can't agree with that." I told her.

"So, what exactly are you saying?" Bakugo asked.

Deku piped in, "Kacchan, I think he's trying to say that they're setting something up. As crazy as it sounds, it definitely is plausible, but we can't rule that out just yet."

Bakugo nodded and Deku's phone vibrated. He looked at it and furrowed his eyebrows.

"Speaking of that law, they just passed it. That was... Quick." Deku told us.

"What?! You're telling me they couldn't find anything wrong with that law? Shit... Do they expect us to go into Work-Studies 24/7 in order to stop someone from robbing a store?" I exclaimed.

"But Alyx, Pro Heroes are responsible for that, we can still defend ourselves but we just can't act alongside the Pros." Momo affirmed.

I didn't think about it like that! Was I just reading into this wrong? Did Hawks want me to be against everyone? Were the HPSC really trying to do good this time?

"Deku, can you pull up the report from a couple days ago? With the HPSC President?" I asked.

Deku nodded and went to his computer. Momo, Bakugo and I crowded around him as he searched through to find it. On the Japanese World News website, he found the full interview. He clicked the video and it began to play, I waited for the camera to pan out, I held my hand out to signal Deku to stop the video which he did.

"What in the fuck...?" I muttered.

The individuals standing next to him weren't the Quartet Girls, just regular security guards. I couldn't believe what I was seeing!

"Darling, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Momo wondered.

"Yeah, I am. I'm not sure, but Hawks might've been bullshitting just a bit. He could be on to something though; we'll just have to see." I responded.

Something was definitely going on, I couldn't exactly put my finger on it. I left Deku's room with Momo and Bakugo.

"So, what are we gonna do now?" I pondered.

"Don't know and I honestly don't care. As long as we don't get attack by some HPSC asskissers, we'll be fine." Bakugo reassured us.

"I hope so, that's really the last thing I wanna deal with." I agreed.

As I was walking, Momo stopped in her tracks, I stopped as well and looked back at her.

I walked over to her, "Is everything alright?"

"Y-Yeah! Everything's alright, I'm just trying to process everything, you know... Stuff and things." Momo replied.

"Like what?" I questioned.

"Well, you love me, right?" Momo rocked forward and backwards on the heels of her feet.

"Uh huh, of course! Why wouldn't I?" I smiled.

She simply smiled back and didn't say a single word to me.

"HOLY HELL! WHAT IS THIS THING?!" I heard Mina yell from downstairs.

"IS THAT A BLANKET?!" Kirishima shouted.

I turned back towards Momo with my eyes widened and my mouth agape.

"Shut up! You didn't!" I gasped with excitement.

"I don't know, is your Overdrive blue and white?" Momo winked.

I laughed with joy and held her up in the air. I gave her a big hug and she hugged me back.

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you! You really are amazing, Momz!" I exclaimed with glee.

"Aww, no problem, my love! I've been meaning to repay you for spending ¥550,000 on me." She grinned.

I rushed downstairs and found the box that the blanket was in. It was a huge blue fuzzy blanket! It was at least 3 times my height! I lit up with even more joy as I stared at it!

"AAAAAAAA!!! I LOVE IT!" I shouted.

I folded the blanket as best as I could and held it tightly, "Any of you touch this, you WILL be shot on sight, no hesitation and no prisoners. The only people allowed to touch this are Momo and Eri."

"Why Eri? She only visits a few times here and there." Kaminari asked.

"Because if it gives her warmth and makes her happy, then she's allowed to use it." I replied.

"Huh... Who knew simple things made Alyx so happy?" Jiro chuckled.

I sighed and smiled, then I heard a knock at the door. I went upstairs to put the blanket in my room. I came back downstairs and there stood Midnight in front of the dorm doors.

"Ah, there you are, Alyx! I've been meaning to talk to you, have you chosen where you'd like to do your Work-Studies?" She wondered.

"No ma'am, I haven't. I've been having trouble deciding where to intern, especially with the near 10,000 nominations I got from this year's Sports Festival combined with last years." I told her.

Midnight smiled, "Well, you won't have to worry about that, you'll be doing it with me!"

Work-Study with Midnight? That sounds rather... Interesting?
