"Yo, I've got a question." Kirishima announced as I sat down at the lunch table.
"What is it, Kirishima?" Bakugo asked.
"Who would win a fight between you and Leonidus-san?" He wondered.
We both said, "I would of course", at the same time.
"What did you just say, Amnesia?" Bakugo scowled.
I shrugged my shoulders, "I'm just saying, due to my Quirk, I'd win fair and square."
"You wanna prove that? Don't be spouting bullshit if you aren't gonna back it up, Amnesia!" Bakugo shouted.
"Alright, the next time we have a 'Versus' training exercise, I'll ask Mr. Aizawa to pair us up against each other. Deal?" I suggested.
Bakugo smirked at me, "Damn right! Just don't go crying to your Mommy once I kick your ass!"
"Speaking of training exercises, how'd you guys do on that midterm test yesterday? I got ranked 7th." Jiro told us.
"I got ranked 3rd! I studied almost everyday and it honestly wasn't too difficult. Mr. Aizawa told me I would've gotten ranked 2nd if I didn't mess up on a couple of things." I replied.
I looked over and saw that Bakugo looked a bit more angrier than usual, which I didn't think was possible. Jiro squinted her eyes as she looked towards something.
"Hey, that girl over there looks a bit lost. She normally just stands over by that wall over there, is there something wrong, unless she's just nervous around other people." Jiro wondered.
"Hmm... I'm not sure, I'll go see what's up! Who knows, I might be able to make another friend!" I smiled.
I got up and approached the girl, she had rather large horns, was blonde, and had dark blue eyes. She looked over at me and smiled.
"Hey! Do you need help with something?" I asked.
She stayed quiet for a bit before speaking, "S-Sorry, I don't speak Japanese too well."
"Oh! My apologies, I thought you were a native speaker! Did you need help with something?" I told her in English.
Her eyes immediately lit up with joy after I spoke to her in English.
"Oh thank goodness! My name is Pony Tsunotori, it's a pleasure to meet someone who speaks English! I actually do need a bit of help, what's your name by the way?" Pony beamed.
"My name is Alyx Leonidus, it's a pleasure to meet you! Are you from the States as well?" I introduced myself.
"Yep! Could you help me get lunch? I'm not sure what the options are so I just eat when I get back home." She nodded.
I nodded back, "Of course! I haven't gotten anything yet since I just got here, but we can sit together if you'd like."
"Okay! I'd enjoy that!" Pony grinned.
I lead her through the lunch line and told her the different options. We picked out our food and sat down at an empty table.
"So, what State are you from, Alyx?" She asked.
"I'm from... Nevada! Or well, I was born in California and moved to Nevada when I was about six years old I believe." I answered.
"Oh, that's interesting! Hey, I've gotta question, could you teach me Japanese? I would study it myself but with school and Quirk training I'm not sure if I could fit it into my schedule." Pony questioned.
"I don't see why not, but let's start with one thing, NEVER repeat what Monoma tells you to say. Like... Ever." I advised.
She tilted her head with confusion, "Why's that?"
"They aren't exactly the kindest of words, Pony." I replied.
"Oh no, well I apologize if I insulted any of you! I won't let that meanie pants try and make me say hurtful things again!" Pony gasped.
"It's all good, trust me, we've been through quite a bit so I'm sure we could handle lackluster insults. Besides, Monoma's just rather competitive when it comes to our class in general." I told her.
We talked for the remainder of lunch, it turns out she actually read a majority of the manga I liked not to mention she also watched some of the anime that I watch as well! I guess I really did make a new friend! After lunch, we returned to the classroom where Mr. Aizawa instructed us to put on our hero costumes and meet them outside. Them? As we got outside, I finally understood what he meant by "them." Not only was it Mr. Aizawa out there, but so was Midnight, Present Mic, Ectoplasm, Snipe, Thirteen, Cementoss, and All Might!
"Alright everyone, I know you all have been waiting for this, and I imagine you've prepared as well." Mr. Aizawa announced.
"Yeah! The final exams! We're fighting robots, right?" Mina blurted.
Principal Nezu popped out out Mr. Aizawa's scarf! What was he doing in there?!
"Not quite! As a matter of fact, we'll be taking a different approach to your final exams! You won't be battling against robots during the exam." Principal Nezu told us.
We wouldn't be fighting against robots? Then what was this final exam about? Was it just gonna be a general check up on our skills?
"Due to the recent surge in villain related events, we've amped up the quality of our training methods. Instead of fighting robots, you all will be going through battle simulations much similar to real life encounters. The obvious substitute for robots would be U.A.'s very own staff! And, of course, we've already decided your pairs and the teachers you will be facing off against." Principal Nezu explained.
W-What?! We've got to fight one of the teachers? Talk about a surprise... I thought this Final Exam was gonna be a breeze.
"So, let's get started. Being that there's 21 of you, we had to make a compromise. Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, Leonidus, you three will be a group. The teacher you'll be going up against..." Mr. Aizawa informed us.
"...Is me." Mr. Aizawa grinned.
If I'm gonna be honest, I'd rather fight All Might! I've only seen Mr. Aizawa fight once, and even then, it was only for a moment!
[15 Minutes Later...]
We arrived at some uninhabited town to begin our exam. I was super nervous!
"So, what's the plan here? Are these Russian Dolls important?" I asked Shoto and Momo.
"Yes, they've got a bit of a surprise for him. Let's just hope they work..." Momo answered.
In the distance, I could hear movement, I noticed Shoto could hear the same as well. How'd he know where we were? He was somehow above us on one of the telephone wires! Shoto tried to attack, but was met with Mr. Aizawa's capture weapon!
"Run!" Shoto yelled to Momo and I.
I didn't want to leave him, but I had no choice. Momo and I ran down the street as fast as we could to get away from Mr. Aizawa, we ran down an alleyway to take a breather.
"What do we do now? Do we just head to the exit?" I quietly asked.
"I-I'm not sure! I don't even know what to do!" Momo responded.
I took a deep breath in and out, I could tell Momo was stressing out. She started to tear up and I put my hand on her shoulder.
"We'll get through this, I promise. Let's just calm down and think." I told her.
She took a deep breath in and out as well, then she closed her eyes. After a bit, she opened them and nodded.
"Okay, I think I know what we need to do. We need to go back to Shoto and-" Momo tried to tell me a plan.
Before she finished her plan, I saw Mr. Aizawa's capture weapon shoot out towards Momo. I pushed her behind me and it wrapped around my arm.
(I.R.P.: Listen to "Trinity" from My Hero Academia! End once you reach the time skip)
"Go save Shoto! I'll handle Eraser Head!" I shouted.
Momo nodded and ran back towards Shoto.
"I'd have to hand it to you, Leonidus. You're pretty quick, even without your Quirk. Normally you'd have to have a keen sense in order to see my capture weapon coming." Mr. Aizawa complimented.
I smiled at him, "And I've got the strength to match!"
I don't think Mr. Aizawa expected me to pull the capture weapon and him over my shoulder and slam him into the ground! I can't rely on using my Quirk against him, so I'll have to try and beat him as is! I took the chance and ran out of the alleyway, I looked behind me and noticed that he wasn't following me, until I looked up.
"Didn't think I could keep up?" Mr. Aizawa yelled down to me.
I smirked and turned back the other way. I crashed through a window and found a flashlight in a cabinet. I hid behind a wall and waited for Mr. Aizawa.
"There's only 20 more minutes to complete your Final Exams! The clock is ticking!" Recovery Girl announced.
I heard Mr. Aizawa enter the house. He slowly stepped around, making sure not to make his presence known. He came around the wall where I was hiding, luckily, his goggles were off of his face! I stunned him with the light from flashlight and blasted him out of the house using a force shield! I ran out of the house and back towards Momo and Shoto. I made my way to them after about 5 minutes of running.
"What happened? Where's Mr. Aizawa?" Momo asked.
"I'm not sure. I managed to trick him by blinding him with a flashlight and then I sort of knocked him through a wall of a house." I told her.
"Okay, you may have rendered him unconscious, let's just get out of here while we still can!" Momo exclaimed.
We ran towards the exit, as we got closer, I felt something wrap around my legs. Mr. Aizawa was pulling me towards him! Momo quickly created a staff and I grabbed onto it.
"Todoroki-kun! Now!" Momo shouted.
Shoto stomped his foot down and created a wall of ice that cut off Mr. Aizawa's capture weapon! Momo helped me up and we quickly ran through the exit.
"Well, it looks like we've already got a group that's passed! Congratulations, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, and Leonidus! You're the first group to pass your Final Exam!" Recovery Girl announced.
"That was probably the most intense thing I've ever gone through so far." I admitted.
"Did you really blind him with a flashlight?" Shoto asked.
I laughed at him, "Not really, I only stunned him temporarily. But nice work, guys!"
[25 Minutes Later...]
Everyone but Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, and Sato managed to pass the test. I felt really bad for them, it sucks that they won't be able to go to the forest lodge with us. As we started to pack our things and leave the classroom, Mr. Aizawa stopped us.
"Well, as you know, four of you managed to fail the Final Exam. As a result, all of you will still be going to the forest lodge." Mr. Aizawa told us.
"WHAT!? NO WAY!" Mina, Sato, Kirishima, and Kaminari yelled.
"We figured by telling you that if you'd fail, you wouldn't be able to join us in future activities, which would make you be at your upmost best. It was a logical ruse." Mr. Aizawa smirked.
I felt relieved on the inside, I was really glad that they were coming along with us!
"Don't get too excited. This lodge trip won't be a relaxing camping trip, it'll be as if you're going to boot camp. Those who failed the practical exams will be doing much harsher training then the rest. Kaminari, Mina, Sato, Kirishima, and Sero, I suggest you prepare." Mr. Aizawa continued.
"Oh, and one more thing," Mr. Aizawa said, "I suggest you pack the necessary items you'll need on this trip. You'll be outdoors most of the time and I don't want to hear complaining that you don't have the things you need. If none of you prepare, Leonidus, expect to be your classes' expert in treating bug bites and poison ivy."
It's not like I wasn't gonna be that already... Mr. Aizawa left the classroom and Hagakure suggested that we go shopping for things tomorrow at the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall. At least I'll have time to figure out everything that I'll need for this lodge trip. As I left U.A., Deku stopped to talk to me.
"Hey! Is it true that you're gonna fight Kacchan?" Deku asked.
"Yeah, Kirishima-san asked who would win in a fight between him and I, which ended up with us agreeing to fight the next time we have a versus training exercise. I wish I never said a word..." I told him.
"Is there something wrong?" Deku heard my muttering at the end.
I looked up and gave him a reassuring smile, "No, everything's fine!"
"Oh, alright. You know if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here!" Deku smiled.
I nodded and Deku & I parted ways.
[The Next Day...]
All of us met up at the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall, Shoto and Bakugo weren't there though. I honestly wasn't sure where to go, so I kind of stood there with Deku and Uraraka. I felt someone tap my shoulder.
"Hey, you wanna come with me? There's a store over here that has almost everything we'll need!" Momo asked.
"Sure! There's a couple of things I need to pick up anyway." I agreed.
I followed Momo to this general shop, she was right, it had almost everything you could imagine! I stood in front of a rack of bug spray.
"You know, bug spray might be useful, since we're heading to a forest. It might be hot as well, so I'd suggest you buy something that'll keep you cool." Momo told me.
"That's the thing... I'm working on this technique that allows me to put a barrier around myself, I haven't perfected it yet, so I'm not entirely sure if I'll need bug spray. I could very well master it at the lodge!" I replied.
"Then you might want to buy some just in case." Momo advised.
I nodded and grabbed three of them. I also bought 2 bottles of toothpaste, an extra toothbrush, and a pillow. We walked out together and Momo bought quite a lot of stuff!
"Do you want me to help you carry some bags? I have a free hand." I asked her.
She smiled, "Well aren't you a gentleman? Here, thank you for offering!"
I grabbed some bags from her and we met up with the others. I couldn't help but notice that Deku looked a bit tense. I wonder why?
