There was a saying in my last world

' Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time.'

Everything would seem perfect and fine, You wouldn't Realize it till the end and when you will think that everything went well, at that time it will hit you like a tsunami.

I suddenly Remember this saying because this was what exactly happened to me.

The leveling up process was going without any problems and was almost at the verge of completion of its main phase.

When suddenly !! Rosalyn vomited Black blood.

" ROSALYN "

The moment i saw her vomiting Black blood, I shouted her name and rushed towards her.

She was still sitting cross-legged, her eyebrows had a deep furrow and her eyelids were tightly shut.

Black blood was dripping down her lips, and she was struggling to continue going through the process so as not to suffer a backlash.

She was was almost at the end of making a ring of mana around her heart and breaking up the process at this point will not only risk the destruction of the first ring but there was a possibility of a heart failure too.

Noticing Rosalyn's condition, I didn't waste anytime and quickly knelt down behind her, lifting up the t-shirt from behind her I put both of my palms on her naked back.

I started supplying my mana through her body and I could clearly feel the chaotic mana near her heart.

Before Rosalyn came today, I already double checked everything to make sure that nothing disturbs and creates problems for her during the process and I even put several restrictions around for any intrusion.

So, i knew that there was no external interference, the process of building the ring around the heart was also flawlessly executed by Rosalyn.

That means the only problem was inside Rosalyn's body, but i wasn't ready to Believe it. She looked fine from the outside and she also didn't mention any hidden problem before.

Then what went wrong ? I didn't know.

After injecting my mana inside her, even i didn't find a problem. All i could see was the Chaotic mana near her heart that was damaging the tissues nearby and polluting and burning the blood, making it black.

" Don't Give up Rosalyn, I am here with you. Hold on and don't stop the process. I am forcefully injecting mana during the process, so you must endure, it will be painful for a bit."

I Spoke to Rosalyn and without wasting time started injecting more mana inside her. I could hear her " hisss " as she tried to bear with the pain.

Dividing my mana into two parts, i sent one towards the injured tissues and started healing them with continuous, precise and small casting of healing spells.

I could only heal every part slowly because the usage of excessive mana near her heart will negatively effect her ring making process.

I sent the second part of my mana towards her heart where the mana was getting Chaotic and started calming it down by diffusing it with my mana.

This was an ancient method of calming down chaotic mana that I learnt from the library in my pocket Dimension.

I could instantly feel Rosalyn relax her body a little, she also picked up the pace and started completing the ring around her heart.

A few minutes went by and I was nearing my mana limit. No matter what, at the end i was still a Rank 2 wizard and still haven't level up to rank 3.

Supplying mana to Rosalyn in such large quantity took quite a bit of toll on my mana reserves.

I rubbed my right hand thumb with my index finger and summoned my ring.

The ring has its own additional mana storage that was quite big and only increases as the user ranks up.

But life is a b*tch sometimes where one problem goes and another appears.

I was multitasking by healing and calming down the chaotic mana inside Rosalyn's body at the same time, so my mind was working on overdrive and overloading it caused the blood to start dripping down from my nose, but i was too busy to anything about it .

Another few minutes went by and the first and the most important phase finally came to an end.

" Well done Rosalyn, now just ciruculate your mana inside the new path once, Don't worry i would help you, trust me "

My eyelids were getting heavy but i still persevre and said to Rosalyn.

Her condition was getting better by the second as i continue to heal her and calm down her Chaotic mana.

After the ring completion, the chaotic mana was also almost calmed down, so i shifted my attention form it and focus on guiding Rosalyn's mana through the new channel inside her body.

This wasn't that hard of a process so it got completed quite easily.

I also completely healed her internal injuries, and Rosalyn finally leveled up to a rank 2 wizard.

" Congratulations Rosalyn "

I congratulated her with a cheerful voice.

" Thank you Athan "

She nodded her head and slowly spoke in a low voice.

I removed my hands from her back and as I tried to stand up, I felt my legs trembling and my mind was on the verge of shut down due to all the work i put it through.

Rosalyn also tried to stand up but her legs trembled and she almost fell, but I caught her by her waist.

" Don't push yourself, let me carry you "

Saying that i didn't wait for her to reply and took her in a princess carry and started walking towards her room.

I wasn't in any condition to do what i was doing.

I gritted my teeth and didn't let any emotion show on my face, but i couldn't stop the trembling of my hands and legs.

Rosalyn didn't spoke so i thought she might haven't noticed it because of tiredness.

Rosalyn lifted her hands and wiped the blood dripping down my nose with her thumb.

She still didn't spoke anything and was just silently looking at my face.

To say that i wasn't getting nervous would be a lie, but i was too tired to delve into the topic too much.

We finally reached Rosalyn's room and i gently layed her down on her bed, but because of my already exhausted mana, my tired body, my mental exhaustion, and still carrying Rosalyn to her room, the moment i stood up after Laying down Rosalyn, darkness covered my vision and i fainted.

{ Rosalyn POV }

I was going through my leveling up process and i was very confident and excited.

Everything was going perfectly,

when suddenly !!

My mana went chaotic, and it started rampaging near my heart, internally injuring me and make me puke blood.

As soon as i puked blood, i heard Athan's worry filled shout, but i wasn't in any condition to reply.

The situation was a little dangerous so i tightly closed shut my eyes and concentrated on going through the process, but the mana near my heart was becoming more Chaotic, and when i thought that i was going to loose control and suffer a backlash.

I felt the touch of two big palms on my back and a warm current of mana that i knew was his, flowing through my body.

I heard his voice and his reassuring words that filled me with a new confidence.

I followed his instructions and gritted my teeth from the pain that followed and focused on completing my ring of mana.

I could feel his mana healing my internal injuries and calming down my chaotic mana.

I couldn't believe what was happening, he who was same age as me could perform healing even better than some professionals and what was this method of calming down the chaotic mana by diffusion, I haven't even heard of anything like that in my whole life.

He was becoming more and more mysterious the more i got to know him, and my respect for him was only increasing with every passing day.

His methods were working like a miracle and every passing second my pain was becoming less and less, I could now freely concentrate on my process of leveling up.

I soon completed the most difficult step and finally completed the ring around my heart, Now only the circulation through a new path was left.

I once again heard his cheerful voice, he was happy that I Completed the dangerous part but i could feel that his voice was a little different from before, it was a little low and contained the tiredness that he tried his best to hide, but failed miserably.

I suddenly noticed one thing that i almost missed. How was it possible for him, a rank 2 wizard to supply so much amount of mana.

I was fine because what i use was just the amount of mana at the rate that my body generated, so basically i could use it as long as my mind supports, but he was different, he was continuously pouring his mana in such high quantity and was continuously using spells that he should have been exhausted already, but he was still supplying me mana, and his mind that should have been Overloded by now with his multitasking was still working.

Then it clicked me, he was using his life force to forcefully generate mana and was persevering to use his brain to its maximum capacity.

Just for me, he was doing all this.

I wanted to stop him, but i didn't, i didn't want to reveal that i already knew what he was doing, and didn't want to disrespect him by denying his help, because i knew that he would still forcefully help me even if i decline him, so i just nodded my head and followed his mana in my body

Soon the the process was finally completed and I took a breath of relief. Athan congratulated me and I nodded my head and thanked him. My head was still filled with what he did.

I felt disappointed when he removed his hands from my back, i wanted him to keep them there a bit more but i know it was a selfish wish.

My legs suddenly trembled from exhaustion, when i tried to stand up, but before i could fall, Athan caught me from my waist.

" Don't push yourself, let me carry you "

I heard his voice but before i could reply him, he carried me in his arms like a princess.

My face became hot and my heart start beating faster in his arms, but suddenly i came out my thoughts when i felt his hands and legs trembling.

I looked at his face, he wasn't showing any expressions, but the blood dripping down his nose, and his trembling body was a clear indication of his condition.

I wiped the blood that was dripping from his nose with my thumb and just wached him carrying me to my room.

Although my heart was filled with the warmth from his love for me, but I also felt like crying watching him harm himself just for my sake.

I wanted to hug him, hug him so tight, kiss him and show my love to him, but i didn't. This was not the time and i know it.

We reached my room and he layed me down on my bed, but before he could stand up he fainted on the bed.

I panicked as i saw him fainting, i quickly checked up his body with my mana and finally took a breath of relief when i noticed that it was from mana and mental exhaustion.

I knew it, i was right, he did exhausted his mana way earlier, then the only plausible scenario was that he used his life force to heal me.

" You Dumbo "

I couldn't help but scold him for his reckless behaviour.

After scolding him a little all that was left was love i was felling for him.

I moved his body on the bed and removed his shoes.

I watched his face and stroked his hair a little, then suddenly a thought crossed my mind and my cheecks turned red but once again conforming that he was stil sleeping, i gathered up my courage.

I moved my face just above his and slowly moved it down, my lips slowly touched his, i closed my eyes and gave him a long deep kiss.

I suddenly pulled myself back and covered my face with both of my palms in embarrassment.

I couldn't believe what i just did, I became flustered and I hugged him and put my face on his chest.

When suddenly!! his body moved and he hugged me back.

My body tensed a little, i lifted my face to check but he was still asleep.

I sighed in relief but then i got a little more brave, i snuggled in his arms and hugged him more tightly and finally fell asleep like that.
