Chapter 34 - Flirting and Gifts

"Hey, Tomo-chan! Come sit with me!"

"Hey, Tomo-chan! Let's eat side by side!"

"Hey, Tomo-chan-"

"Hey, Nee-san. I think you should keep this down low…"

"Ehh…"

"Didn't we promise that nothing will change between us after that event?"

"Ehh?~ Oh, did we now~"

Oh God, this crazy girl. It's been a year and a half since we confessed to our parents about that incest thing and I thought that nothing will change between us… Well, oh boy, was I so wrong!

These past months, my sister has been flirting with me whenever she finds a chance. It progressively got more frequent and more aggressive, from saying I'm cute and things to taking a bath with me fully naked, how has my parents let this on?!

I mean, I get what she is doing right now. After all, she is becoming 15 this year, which means she is at the age where she has to go to an actual school rather than homeschool. So she is trying to spend her remaining time in the palace with happy and lovely memories with our family, me in particular.

Of course, the school that she picked is the most prestigious and hardest but best school on the entire continent, Aurora Maxine University. I don't know if she already had her eyes set on this school for a long time or if she picked this school because she knows that this is the school that I picked as well. I mean, that school has so many interesting things in it according to our mother so obviously, I would pick it.

Either way, her advances on me have become so severe that my younger sister Kaguya, also started flirting with me in jealousy! Heck, even Miles, who is so dense as a neutron star and doesn't understand what love is, noticed what my sister is doing. It is nuts, that is all I'm going to say.

Other than the flirting part, these past months have been a blast. Since we incorporated outdoor activities and adventures in our lessons, we have fought so many monsters and I got considerably stronger. The hunger that I feel from Gluttony did get better over time but I still can feel it from time to time.

The normal class focuses on survival in the wild, in which we practice how to survive in the wild like hunting, setting up tents, and all that kinds of stuff. They also teach battle strategies, formations, war strategies, history, and anything related to combat that doesn't require too much physical strength.

Also, I just noticed it by now but our teacher in this class is definitely not normal, not as strong as my family members but he might be one of the smartest people in the empire. He also knows a lot about wars and battle strategies. I thought it was odd and asked our parents and they told me that he was the Vice Commander of the army, mainly for strategizing. No wonder he was our instructor.

Magic class focuses on honing our magic potential. From increasing our magicule capacity to multi-casting high ranked spells with incantations to multi-casting high ranked spells without incantations to magicule recovery and everything related to magic. Including theories, elemental analysis, and all that kind of stuff.

Sword/Battle class focuses on honing physical and mental strength and battle prowess. This includes weapon efficiency, sword arts, body arts, arts in general, and of course, sword techniques like sword dance, sword skills, and sword auras. This class is usually combined with other classes whenever the lessons overlap with one another. For example, hunting monsters and survival strategies or dual magic and sword usage.

Some of you might be asking, what do we do about our royalty duties? The answer is we don't. Our empire is special for certain reasons.

First of all, the Emperor and Empress can either be hereditary or by a vote by the common people like an election. This was new for me since it is usually hereditary through the crown prince or princess.

Second, the children of the Emperor and Empress don't need to show themselves in public or go to social gatherings. Of course, not going means there are going to be bad rumors about you from the nobles who haven't seen us but those who are in the capital know that we aren't those rumors so if there are at least a few people who know that fact, we are totally fine.

Third, the situation regarding who will be the Crown Prince or Princess. This would normally go to the eldest or the one who is by far the best suited for it out of all the siblings. However, none of us wanted to become one.

My sister wants to be a traveling mage when she grows old, my brother wants to be either a knight or a commander of sorts, I want to be an adventurer and my sister wants to become a magic architect, which is weird since she never had any interest in architects and stuff but I guess the fantasy world changed her mind.

The only one who hasn't made a decision is our youngest sibling, Eric, who is only five years old by the way! Of course, even though he is only five, he is already smart enough to understand the situation but he is also struggling to come up with an answer. He is fine with becoming the Crown Prince but he doesn't really want to do too much work unless he becomes old enough to properly write.

We came to an agreement that he will become the Crown Prince under the condition that all of the work will be done by the rest of us siblings, which we didn't mind that much since he is still 5 years old and we share the workload so it is not much of a big deal.

Of course, he still does some work like reading papers and learning how everything in the empire works. We also teach him some stuff when he doesn't understand something. We also have our instructors and some officials with us so he will be able to learn everything relativity quickly.

He will be fine since our parents can still run the empire by themselves for another 500 years so I don't think he doesn't need to rush things. We only just need someone as the Crown Prince in name and that's it.

Anyways, enough of that. We now have only a week left before Fuyumi-nee-san leaves. Three days after she becomes 15 years old, she immediately needs to go. And her birthday is in four days. Now, I know she wants to have great memories and stuff like that and I think we did pretty well making her achieve that.

From helping her whenever she needs it and showing a bit of affection to her from time to time, go and explore in the capital. Going on dates from time to time whenever there are breaks so I think that should be fine. Though, if it comes to her birthday… yeah, I don't know anything about that.

I'm more of a minimalist person when it comes to birthdays or celebrations, especially when it comes to me. In my previous world or here, I never really liked fancy and excessive things for my birthday or any events for that matter. So I don't know a thing or two about birthday celebrations for others.

Maybe a gift would be good? Even then, I don't know what to give her. Maybe a necklace, or earrings… Nah, she already has a lot of those already. Maybe some clothes? Armor? Weapons? Wand? Yeah, I don't know what.

'Hey, Tomo. What's been bothering you?'

'Oh, I just don't know what to give Nee-san as a gift…'

'Then, how about what she likes?'

'I don't know about that. She likes magical stuff, artifacts, and something like that but nothing of those sorts rings a bell that gives me an idea for a gift. After all, anything I can make with magic, she can already make it by herself.'

'Then how about yourself? Wrap yourself with ribbons and say "Your Present. Is. Me~"'

'Oh hell Nah! Never! Scrap that idea!'

'Ok ok calm down, I was just joking, no need to get angry like that.'

I swear I'm going to get a heart attack from this spirit of mine soon. Gift wrapping myself?! That only works if I'm a girl, if a boy does it, it feels a bit weird…

'Ugh…'

'You know you can just give her anything, right?'

'Eh? What do you mean?'

'I mean, you can gift her anything. It doesn't matter if she can recreate it herself or not as long as the thought counts. But if you want to give her something special no matter want, then just make her birthday fun and enjoyable. I think you can discuss it with your family members, right?'

'I mean, we already did. We already arrived at a design and stuff, the only thing left are gifts. I asked for suggestions and all of their answers are just the same as yours but I really don't know what to give her. I mean I do have some ideas for gifts that I can give her but I want to give her something more special as well.'

'Wait, gifts? As in multiple? And you still want to give her something more special?'

'Yeah? What's wrong with that?'

'I thought you were stuck because you haven't thought of a gift yet but it seems you already have multiple. So your problem is what special thing you can give her?'

'Yes…'

'Hmm… how about a weapon?'

'She already has a wand.'

'No, not a wand. Or at least not an ordinary wand. I'm thinking of something special…'

I wonder what it is she is talking about.
