Clouded Judgment

The chapter starts out with Michael.

Who drew his sword back in ready to plunge it to the white wolf gnawing at his left forearm.

He would then drive the sword straight into Luna's underbelly as she cried out in a struggle.

At least that was the plan.

But before the sword could even reach Luna a shot was heard in the small district of the base.

Michael looked down to see that everything was fine, but his sword dropped.

Michael's armored wrist was smoking.

Yes the suit has the ability to protect him from bullets and most energy weapons but not the weighted force of the attack.

So when Alfie shot his wrist it interrupted the attack, Michael then kicked the wolf as it was rolling on the ground away whimpering.

Alfie stood back up while his right arm was wounded.

The beam Michael struck him with made a hole in the gauntlets and even through Alfie's skin to the bones melting the surface of it.

Alfie tossed the sword to his left hand as his right was a bit unfunctional.

He sends some of his Chi to the wounded arm to fix the damage but it will take some time.

And for Michael, after kicking Luna he ran at Alfie with anger still in his eye.

And grabbing his sword, Michael ran before jumping up and going down with a simple overhead strike since Alfie looked hurt at the moment.

He wasn't.

Alfie raised his sword up horizontally ready to block the heavy force of attack coming.

But when the contact was about to be made, Alfie tilted the sword point down and when Michael brought down his sword, it slid down to the side before Alfie brought his sword back up and hit Michael on the head with the blunt back side of his sword.

Michael rolled away head first from the simple attacks Alfie made, and by the time Michael brought his head back up with a glare Luna came back growling at Michael jumping at him again for another fight.

"Damn it Luna, stay out of this, he is too much for you!!" Alfie yelled as he plunged his sword on the ground and brought his gun out.

His left hand aiming at Michael to interrupt any attack made against Luna while he takes a few seconds to heal his right hand.

It was starting to annoy him, Luna was doing no damage but she can't think about anything other than attacking the one who hurt her partner.

After a few shots at the limb joints messing with his attacks, Michael finally had enough and dropped his sword before fully using the force field shield and beam.

He raised his hand and blasted a beam at Luna which she flew away crying.

James came in time to catch her before she hit the ground, but she was unmoving.

"Luna!! Damn it, girl." Alfie yelled frustrated that she just wouldn't listen.

Steve and the others came up to Alfie and put up their weapons thinking of ending it.

"That's enough, we will end this before it goes any further." Steve said.

"No, back off." Alfie said as he stepped past them close to fully healing and rushed at Michael.

*Bang* x3

During the run Alfie shot three bullets at Michael only for it to be stopped hopelessly on the energy shield.

When they were just a few feet away Michael kneeled and slid forward as he shot beam blasts at Alfie who jumped forward and turned rotating his body to bring more force to his sword that swung down on Michael.

Michael used the shield to block again before firing off another beam.

Alfie was quick enough to react and use the sword's flat side to redirect the beam past him before stretching his leg to the ground.

By the time Alfie touched the ground he took a quick stance and without hesitation swung the sword twice at the shield which didn't work.

But he knew that.

And by the time Michael lined up his arm at Alfie, the man himself already moved away from his front.

Michael looked to the side to see Alfie on his left and was down so low he could have not seen him.

Alfie seung his sword upwards hard that the energy shield was pushed upwards.

And with that opportunity, Michaels lower body was open for a second.

Alfie rotated his body fast and slash the sword horizontally on Michaels leg.

It wouldn't have worked, but this time Alfie's sword lit up in yellow during the swing.

"Agghh!!"

Michael screamed.

His skin was slashed and the armor on his right leg was scratched open like it was Wolverine's metal claws going through a metal wall.

Michael paused and looked at Alfie, as if saying he had enough.

Michael grabbed something from his side hip and pressed some buttons on the small item before slowly stepping back limping a little.

"You will suffer, and every one of you deserve it...you call yourselves heroes when you're just as problematic as the madmen you fight against." Michael said.

Alfie scrunched his eyebrows knowing something was gonna happen, but that is only if he let it.

Michael brought the blue metallic thing up as if it was a bomb and spoke.

"Goodbye, Mr.Wolf-"

*BANG* x2

Twoloud bang sound made its way through the silent barracks.

The item Michael held dropped, and so did his knees.

Michael brought his arm up to his ears which was bleeding and missing the lower part of it.

The first thing Alfie shot was Michael's wrist, which Michael was surprised by and that reaction gave Alfie another time for a shot to the ears.

As Michael was on the ground he reached for the item he took out only for a foot to step on it.

Michael looked up at Alfie.

"You think I'm as naive to just let you talk and do whatever it is you wanted to do?" Alfie said.

Michael glared and grinded his teeth looking at the holes through Alfie's mask, but Alfie made it better by taking it off.

Seeing Alfie without his mask gave Michael an idea for a lethal strike, and so he moved to get up and shoot a beam on his head but Alfie just kneed his chin and kicked the inside of his leg putting Michael on his knees again.

"Let me tell you something, Michael."

Alfie looked right at his eyes.

"You don't want your family back as much as you want revenge." Alfie said.

Michael got more angrier and jumped up at Alfie only for him to fall back down on his knees.

Because when he got up Alfie took one step back before doing a 360 spin while going low and his sword lit up in yellow as it slashed Michael's thigh.

"You don't know shitt!! I'll kill you!! I'll kill you!!" Michaels wheezed as he tried to ignore the pain.

"See what I mean? You are so blinded by your rage that you can't even think clearly."

"I mean if you had thought it through...you could have used these tech to go back in time and save your family…" Alfie said.

Michaels eyes widened and he froze.

This man was right, he only thought of revenge and nothing else, Alfie McBride has given him hope.

"But too bad you came to kill me…" Alfie said bringing Michael back to reality.

And with another shock, Michael tried to speak.

"W- wait, I- I, please give-"

"And worst of all, you shot my little Luna…" Alfie said.

Michael looked to the side and saw James holding onto an unmoving Luna, and as he looked back he tried speaking again.

But this time he couldn't bring out his voice this time, his whole body and mind was distracted by something on his chest.

Michael looked down only to see Alfie's shining gold sword going through his chest and to his heart.

Alfie put his left foot on Michael's chest and pulled out the sword.

Michael fell back breathing hard.

It was only a fall for everyone, but for Michael, the time slowed down and it felt like it took forever to hit the ground.

His mind was going through what he could have done if he wasn't full of anger.

The man he fought seconds...or some time ago had woken him up, but didn't give him a chance to say anything.

Michael understood, it was only natural, Alfie didn't have the right to give him a chance knowing what he tried to do.

Michael at that moment let everything go, he closed his eyes and the memories with his wife and his little girl flowed through his mind.

Michael slowly lost consciousness and he wouldn't know how much time had passed, but moments later whether that's minutes or even years his eyes jerked open…

Alfie stared at Michaels body for a while before walking to James who was holding Luna.

Alfie asked how she was to James but the man didn't answer.

Checking on her, Alfie realized that she wasn't in critical condition but he still took his hand out on her wound to start recovering it using Chi.

Steve and his men walked up to Michaels body to inspect it.

Alfie called dibs on the body and tech Michael had on him.

Steve had a scolding look on him but Alfie didn't really care and took Michael's body and gears to the tent Steve was in moments ago.

Not long a small group of men came into the area with Colonel Phillips asking for an explanation.

Alfie and James sneak off carrying an unconscious wolf and a body to God knows where leaving Steve to handle the scoldings from the higher ups.

In the morning Alfie and James arrived at Howards place and saw that the "S.H.I.E.L.D." team has fully recovered from...being injured and drunk.

Alfie gave them the news that Michael was dead and gone.

The group had different reactions but mostly stayed quiet.

They were used to stopping dangerous people by themselves and going back through time and chasing a man they expect to have stopped was in line of their expectations but it was all handled by someone else.

And even though Alfie said the military took care of everything they knew he was involved in most of the work.

Even the "Government" took Michael's body and technology he had on.

They didn't know what to think...or do.

But Mack came up and said that they need to retrieve the gears Michael had before heading back to their original timeline.

Something about the technology being too dangerous in this era.

Alfie advised them to head back and that he won't have anything to do with them from that point on.

So now the little group is planning to find out where the body of Michael is and where his gear is.

They could have just gone back after knowing Michael isn't a threat anymore but they had a "Longer Plot Syndrome."

So now Alfie and James went back to enjoying their week of break, Howard was still learning from the smart agents about the tech they have and whatnot.

Stark was excited about the things he was hearing and would love to see these future cutting edge technology.

But then sad again that he was unable to experience it during his time as the things he has and what he could have was limited.

Luna woke up some time ago and started moving around like usual.

Alfie had to scold her for being reckless and trying to fight a dangerous man but his scolding went from one ear and out the other ignoring him.

Alfie couldn't help it but he was spoiling her a bit too much.

Some time later the Colonel chased down Alfie and got on his ass about what the hell happened that night.

Because it was Alfie who requested the barracks area to be cleared but then the Colonel and his men showed up he was nowhere to be seen.

Even Steve tried to lie but Colonel didn't believe what the man was spouting, Steve is shitt ag lying.
