It's good, but the tenses whiplash is brutal. Author needs to edit the book. First 20 chapters will not encourage people to invest time and/or money on this. If you're going to be writing in the present continuous tense, stick to that. If you're going to write in the past tense, stick to that. Mixing them as you do, is extremely jarring and annoying.
