Some memories don’t leave us.
They just sit quietly in one corner of the heart, waiting- for a smell, a voice, a place- to wake them up again.
The Scent of Our Yesterday started as a simple village-to-city love story: two kids, a childhood bond, a breakup of distance, a reunion in a busy modern world. As I kept writing, Ha-rin and Jae-hyun refused to stay “simple”. Their love kept circling back like time itself… so the story also grew into something bigger.
This series is about:
childhood innocence in a small village,
college fights and ego,
corporate politics and pressure,
misunderstandings, second chances,
and one love that keeps coming back, even when time, destiny, and people try to break it.
Later, you’ll also see a touch of mystery and time—loops, echoes, fragments of “what if we had chosen differently?”. But at its heart, it is still the same: one boy, one girl, one long journey of growing up, getting hurt, healing, and finding their way back to each other without losing themselves.
I wanted the story to feel close to us- emotional, little funny, a bit dramatic, but always honest.
If while reading, you remember your first crush, your campus days, your family, your old village, or that one person who still feels like “home” somewhere in your heart- that is enough for me.
