In a world where gems are more than power—they are law, humanity has risen to dominance by mastering socketed gemcraft, shaping civilization through the Gem Security Agency (GSA). But when the refugee alien race known as the Luminia arrives seeking access to Earth's gem reserves to restore their dying homeworld, a fragile alliance is born—one that could unify or shatter the planet.
As Earth prepares to sign a historic treaty granting the Luminia limited gem access, tragedy strikes. A terrorist attack decimates the summit, kills the human representative, and steals Earth’s most prized gem collection. The peace deal collapses in a single blaze of invisible light.
GSA field agent Elias Vasselheim, wielder of the legendary Oathgem, Saber of Conviction, is assigned to investigate the attack—alongside his younger sister Naia, a gifted gemcrafter haunted by past trauma. Forced to partner with the serene but secretive Luminian envoy Elira, tensions rise as Elias wrestles with his vow to protect Naia—especially from the very race that cost her an arm.
But as the trio follows a trail of stolen gems, falsified resonances, and black-market socket rings, they uncover a conspiracy far deeper than terrorism. Human syndicates and militant Luminia have joined forces in secret, planning to rewrite the balance of power across the entire planet.
When tension sparks, old wounds bleed, and the more they dig into the past, the more it becomes very obvious how fragile the treaty between both races is, and the closer they get to the spark that could lead to the very war Elias, Naia, and Elira are trying to avoid.

This book is a great what if book. almost on the lines of Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy. this has a lot of behind the scenes dialog and it ties a lot of the story together.
