Although slightly burdened by period trappings such as the most tasteless nightclub in cinema history and a dire soft-rock soundtrack, Tom Holland’s vampire film is a lot of old-fashioned creepy fun which depends heavily on a superb performance from Chris Sarandon as the vampire who moves in next door to William Ragsdale’s annoying teenage hero. As the bloodsucker begins to cut a swathe through suburbia, the only solution turns out to be calling in movie vampire killer Peter Vincent, played with immense charm by Roddy McDowell. The film works so well because while it’s often very funny, it takes the monster seriously and creates a credible modern vampire myth. Tom Holland, who wrote the brilliantly ingenious Psycho 2, provides witty dialogue and plenty of nods to classic Gothic movies. Richard Edlund's special effects are skilfully achieved and incredibly imaginative throughout. FRIGHT NIGHT

I mean the idea is cool, despite the author clearly don't have the necessary knowledge with all those technological stuff. a panel that can absorb douqi and store it inside somekind of douqi battery, sure a smartphone, well alright drone, meh but soundwave based carver/engraver??? blud, ain't know sound is so strong and precise. at least make it believable, laser or plasma gun or something. also, I want to point out how unrealistic it is for a child like MC but he can built an enterprise without being coerced into handing over all of his secret, or getting assassinated. damn, if I were xiao clan I'd be taking all of my homie and straight scheming this dude despite him renting in one of my shop. and how the heck ain't see much reaction to xiao yan, aint he reincarnated person too?

*poof* popping in for the first time in Matsu-san’s book! From the start, I had already fallen in love with the synopsis. My first thought was how the author has a way with words. The synopsis was beautifully written that it instantly drew my attention. I have never read any of Matsu’s book before, but this “Eternal Melody” feels like it’s calling me. I absolutely did not regret picking this up. When I read it, I feel the subtle emotion conveyed through the writings. It’s subtle but powerful enough to intrude me emotionally. I feel conflicted with all these complex feelings coming at me at the same time. Nostalgia, sadness, heartwarming, soothing until it becomes heartbreakingly beautiful. The story may not come out strong at first but it will slowly push you to the corner, until it all come pouring. Matsu-san you really caught me off guard midway. Lastly, I’m so very much fond of your writing style. Yes, it may need certain editing for the typos but nevertheless, I love the simplicity your portraying. It is clean, lean, concise, and without too much adornment and yet, you r able to speak so much through ur writing. If any of you readers ever read Murakami or Raymond Carver works you’ll know what I mean. Matsu-san fits the same category. Ahhh I really love your work, Matsu-san!! And lord, the theme of your story fits Japanese literary so much. Your choice choosing Japanese culture is the 😁😁
