In a world with magic, an era of industrial revolution and an ongoing war, she finds herself caught in the middle of it all, stuck in an unfamiliar body. Joined by new-found allies, she ventures forth into this new world ↪ _ Tones: Promise of the premise, this gender-bender actually utilizes the change in gender to affect the protagonist's story/development. While yuri/lesbian relationships are the main ships in the series, only crushes develop in the early arcs and romantic relationships happen in later arcs (Smut-Warning as well). There are no plans for a 'harem'. The story overall encompasses an adventure as well as placing emphasis on character-driven progression. Early arcs are also a little rough at times as I wrote it years ago—bear in mind I'm a much better writer now, so give me a chance^^ _ Join the Discord Community for extra info about spells, magic, the world, announcements and more! : https://discord.gg/NPxPJZKamz _ Here's the map of the world!: https://imgur.com/a/krMRCCX Follow along on her journey through this new world, an isekai anime-style story written the way I would love to read myself. Theme: Industrial revolution-esque era with magics and inconsistent technologies as a result. From slice of life moments to dark moments; comedy, fantasy, darkness, romance, mystery and reincarnation all rolled up into one adventure and I do hope anyone reading this has fun and enjoys the journey that's crafted! I go by arcs and chapters much like a light novel. This book seemed great at first, up until chapter 12 everything seemed to be going well, but the cracks started to show in Chapter 9. The protagonist and his team get assigned the Zabuza mission to land of Waves. Not awful, its a bit played out, but its not a huge issue. It is a bad sign though, a sign that we are going to be clinging to canon and never letting go. Then we get the Zabuza fight, which, not great. He is keeping up with Zabuza. Just a few chapters prior he couldn't even handle Kurenai in a fight, who is easily weaker than Zabuza. Kurenai at no point seemed to be overly pressured and was still mostly toying with him. But now he is able to cut Zabuza, chip his blade, and put real pressure on him. Haku eventually steps in and paralyzes Zabuza... Which, WHY? In canon, Haku stepped in when Zabuza looked like he would get killed and Kakashi was too tired with Chakra exhaustion to do anything or think hard about it. Here, Zabuza is barely wounded or pressured. He only used Hidden Mist jutsu and water clones that I can remember, and generally didn't really do too much that would tire him out like a Water Dragon Jutsu. There was no sign he was badly hurt enough that he'd step out so soon. He barely got cut even. Haku turns Zabuza into a pin cushion and tries to drag him away, the protagonist calls it out as an act, and they let the two leave anyway. Then ZABUZA, who should be unconsious from the needles and in a state of FALSE DEATH, speaks up and says: "No, actually I want to fight a bit more now." and tries to fight the protagonist in a 1 on 1 fight, while crippled with needles and barely able to stand, trying to do that same shit he did while dying in the canon timeline, but before they even get to meet Gato or go to the Wave village. He is effectively killing himself for no reason and trying to do a 1 vs 1 suicide fight. And Kuranai LETS the protagonist do it without stepping in. Zabuza has no reason to do this. He is in the worst state he could possibly be in for a fight now, with his body now in a state of near death induced by Haku, and he is trying to force a fight right now instead of leaving to heal up and then come back. Zabuza is a ninja, more than a ninja, he is a master of the Silent Killing technique and Hidden Mist Jutsu. He is not a front-line fighter despite what you may assume. He is an ambush hunter and silent predator. He is not the kind of person to recklessly rush in and throw his life away. He did that in Canon because Haku just died protecting him, Kakashi was ready to finish the job to Zabuza himself, he realized Gato betrayed him, and Gato treated Haku's corpse like shit. Zabuza didn't just go out like that because he does it on a whim, or because he will just do that at any chance he gets to kill himself, he did it because there was no way out of this for him. He did it because Kakashi would have killed him anyway after Gato was dead, Gato was treating Haku like garbage, Naruto gave a big dumb hero speech, and he was probably going to die anyway to bloodloss, so Zabuza decided to go out in a blaze of glory. This book treats his meaningful suicide as something he will just DO for no reason other than he wants to fight the protagonist. The entire Wave arc feels so sloppy and rushed, that even with how promising the entire book up to this point felt, I can't read any more. It is genuinely sad that such a promising concept was treated so poorly this early into it. The writing up to chapter 9 was great, but past that point it feels like a slow decline until it drops right off the edge of a cliff.

Zabuza could be portrayed as more of a mentor figure. Instead of just being a ruthless assassin, he could be shown guiding Naruto in some aspects of combat or strategy. Maybe he survived his encounter with Kakashi and had a change of heart, and now he imparts his knowledge to Naruto who is now a sensei himself.

Zabuza could be quite cold to Naruto at the beginning. He's not exactly the warm - and - fuzzy type. But when Naruto shows his skills and tells his story of being banished unjustly, Zabuza might empathize on some level. He might not show it openly, but he could start to protect Naruto in his own way, perhaps because he sees a bit of his younger self in Naruto who was also wronged by the ninja system.

He could learn Zabuza's signature water - style jutsu, like the Hidden Mist Technique. This would give Naruto an advantage in terms of creating diversions and hiding his movements during battles.
