Eve OnlineEve Before Star Wars (EVE) was a multiplayer online game with a space science fiction theme produced and distributed by Iceland's CP Studio. It was released by Simon & Schuster from May 2003 to December 2003, after which the publishing rights were bought back by the government. On January 22, 2008, it was released via Steam.
The game had a high degree of freedom. Players could operate various spaceships in the game and travel through the EVE universe with many galaxies. They could carry out interstellar navigation, mining, industrial manufacturing, scientific research, financial trade, alliance war, dead space, ship PVP, and other activities.
In China, in 2006, Guangyu Communication announced that it would be the agent of EVE's servers in the mainland of China. In 2007, China Online Games Group acquired Guangtong Communication, and EVE's China server became China Online's agent. In 2012, the contract ended. In the same year, it was launched by Century Tiancheng as an agent and changed its name to EVE: New Era. On September 30, 2018, the contract expired and the service was stopped. Later, Netease took over the agent and changed its name to EVE: Clone Rise "and migrated the user data operated by Century Tiancheng to the Netease account system.
Its derivative works included Eve of Star Wars: Valkyrie (EVE: Valkyrie, EVE: Valkyrie), a VR space shooting game that was released on Steam on September 27, 2017.
