The only thing I'd be careful about is over-narration. In some chapters, almost every action is followed by an explanation of what Alexander is thinking. That suits his personality, but if it's used every few paragraphs, the pacing can slow down. Letting some scenes breathe through action alone will make the tense moments hit even harder
