Stopped reading at chapter 223, this is GOT right? so, what's the main thing people like about GOT, it's politics and intrigue with a few battles between mortal men. in a fanfic it could be the kingdom building which is what i was here for. no one would say that their favourite part was the White Walkers right? if anything they only slow down and distract from the plot and intrigue which is what we like about GOT. The author has basically made the White Walkers the main subject of the rest of the story, the White Walkers are more powerful now than in the original work due to an idiot godes who's introduced to the MC in around chapter 200. either way, I'm here for GOT not this White Walkers preparation simulator. once i realized that the rest of the Fanfic would focus on beating the White Walkers that was when i dropped it. soooo many authors make this mistake in GOT Fanfics, they make a faceless, emotionless and extremely boring entity like the White Walkers the enemy rather than focusing on the politics and intrigue of the seven kingdoms. The White Walkers ended up basically being a footnote in the original show, they never even made it past the north... and that's how the White Walkers should be treated in fanfics, a footnote, nothing more. there's also the fact that gods are involved now which basically ruins the mortal politics for me, everything is just to big. it's the same when i read other books, once the world ending threat is revealed i lose interest because the small stuff like politics and intrigue get less focus.
