Read up to 10% of the 3,000+ chapters. The book officially ended 3 days ago on 12 July 2018 with a total of 3453 chapters. The first few 100s is about --- establishing his authority, becoming more stronger, having more connections and his personality changes to killing evil ppl with a smile once he breakes his own romantic route (nah the plot armour will fix it ;D). P.S. Zhao Ying is not female MC... He will end up with 3 wives. [ Xiao Si (the 3rd lady practising some art that she needed to cut off romantic emotions with the MC to raise her cultivation....), Lu Yurong??? (his enemy in terms of scheming from other govt also is 3rd lady in terms of her siblings), Sun Mingyue (not yet appeared) ] There will be many more techniques such as disguises, formations, teleportations, etc. He then will enter a sect, have disciples.... Cultivation: Houtian lvl (matches wandering martial artists), Xiantian lvl (matches sect disciples lvl at 100+chapters), Above Heavens lvl (天外天 matches top tier experts of lower realm at 200+ chapters) , Heavenly God lvl (天神 matches the emperor lvl at 1.5k+ chapters like rank 2 experts in higer planes)...

is the HAREM you mentioned at the end of the novel or at the end of 10% of the story? if possible could you tell me what happens to Zhao Ying

Its at the end of the novel. From where I've read, Zhao Ying just faded from the background into a mini side character. She is only in charge of the inn, her cultivation cannot catch up with the MC and there is almost to none interaction because he is very busy + he has a new love interest. Bascially he lost the idea of possessing her

its too far away, and does he do the 'deed' with all of his 3 wives, as i saw you mention something about the cultivation technique of Siao Qi requiring her to be emotionally detached from MC Thanks

Review:- The novel's cultivation system has not been described in detail yet, so I'm not gonna talk about it right now. MC of this novel is cool, calm, likeable and doesn't put on any airs. He is ambitious but not reckless. He seems to be the kind of guy who always takes calculated risk and always keeps a few cards hidden so as to meet exigent cirumstances head on. He is also a decent guy, not like Fang Yuan, etc. He is a scholar before transmigration and after too. He doesn't get any fortuitous encounters or meet any great sage. He reads, understands and draws inferences from scriptures to develop his powers. Other characters in this novel are well etched out too except his rival who is annoying. Female characters don't fall for MC left, right and centre but they are not the kind who are malicious to plot against the MC for no reason either. Maybe such characters might show up in the novel later on, considering the novel is 3000+ chapters long. In other words, this novel has female characters who behave like people in 'real life'. Plot moves at a leisurely pace- which I believe is the reason it's not popular- but doesn't get repetitive, the author explores the various aspects of the world as the novel progresses. The fights are grounded in the current arc but it will get Xianxiaesque in future chapters I suppose. The world is based on feudal China with sects on end of the power balance and the Emperor on the other hand. Overlall this is a really good novel to read, if you are tired of other cliched novels on this site but I gotta warn you that it takes time to hit the spot. If you are looking for a good non-cliched- no arrogant young masters lining up on the death queue, no fortuitous enocunters growing on rooftops, etc- novel, you should probably give this one a try.
