Alternatively known as “Descent of God of Magic”, this novel is shorter relative to others (less than 800 chapters), but it is a good read (although the ending feels a liitle rushed). MC travels to a game world and has a level system that gives him missions and lets him upgrade his level of magic. Armed with his knowledge from the game, MC is OP, but has a very likeable personality. He is intelligent and excels in strategies, but he is also willing to help others and go the extra mile. Romance is well developed with one key love interest (a plus for those who don’t like MC picking up girls everywhere. MC does have other women attracted to him). Overall, a recommended read.

LIKEYes, it has been translated till chapter 55 by Isohungry Translations (it was picked up by them at the beginning of this year). But since it is a Qidian novel, I assume it is being considered for official translation on this website. I hope we get a faster release rate here.
Agreed!! On both counts! Thank you so much for a brilliant and useful (for a change) synopsis!! And an extra big 'thank you' for including that it's one of the few that isn't a harem. I am going to vote for this based purely on your synopsis.
A number of beautiful women express interest in the MC (that's where that tag comes from). However, MC is really interested in one girl. I dislike harem too, but it's difficult to find novels without it (here, the harem is not that explicit and it does not takeover the story, like it does in "God and Devil World or "My MCV and Doomsday")
Oh okay.. thank you
Agreed... Is it a harem or not? I'm guessing that a bunch of girls are into him, but he's only interested in one... is that correct? I can live with that, but I'm not a fan of harem. Particularly because in those novels, the MC can have a bunch of girls, but if a beautiful girl even talks to another man, she gets branded a slut, at best - sometimes even morphs into an 'evil villain' from a 'sweet innocent girl'... this is often when she hasn't yet been kissed, let alone lost her 'innocence'! I'm not a female and I wouldn't even say I'm particularly feminist, beyond being a (somewhat) decent person, I'm certainly not an 'activist' of any kind! But that double standard really pisses me off! Why can't a woman have a harem, or why can't they both be poly-amorous? Seriously, in most of the 'reverse harem' things I've seen, she doesn't even kiss anyone, she's just surrounded by admirers... and is still considered slutty. Whereas the male mc's can have *** with their harem members and rate their wives... It really pisses me off. Sorry, I've gone on abit of a lot of a rant bu mistake... This was not my intention, I just got a bit worked up. Anyway, my original question still stands... is this harem? Thanks & sorry, Guy
Thank you. And agreed! So difficult... and even if they aren't harem, they're often reminiscent of harem in some ways - like lots of girls being 'in love with' the MC (like this one)
haha, the reviews are a little influenced by my personal preferences since all novels have their positive and negative aspects. For example, another novel "Crazy Detective" is interesting because of it's genre- crime investigation. I set my expectations too high for the MC, and got disappointed. But overall, this book is also quite readable if you like mysteries and crime-solving.
Crime and investigation is a better suit novel for an author with a good IQ. And a smart author doesn't need to make their mc equiped with plot armor from head to toes, he just need to make the mc solve the unsolved mysteries using his brain. For those crime and mysteries and investigation novel but use forced plot to solve the case EVERY time... I can already imagine where the IQ of the author range at, and I don't think I would waste my time to read something like this. Thanks for the heads up man.
Agree 100%.
