That's where I disagree with you. In the series and in the games, the walkers are always the most or second most terrifying thing that a cast can see. It bring chill down their spines. If I went with that system, that fear would be gone and the tension wouldn't be there if I write a walker scene. Readers will assume that its just another farming point or whatever. I want to keep that tension running when they see a couple of walkers. I NEEDED the system for my massive crossover, BUT I don't want it to be in the front seat. If readers even forget about it, then its good. Cause I wont bring it up if I don't need it. It's function is simply to tell mc the mission, when it starts, other objectives, rewards, and the simulated world so readers know what's next.
