I really hate readers who only read a novel up to the early chapters and don’t read until the end, just reading the first few chapters like chapters 1 and 2, and then saying that a novel is bad or terrible. I really despise readers like that! At the very least, you need to read until the end! Then give suggestions or reviews. However, if you only read the beginning and then give a bad review, you don’t deserve to give a review, because that means you are just a selfish reader who only wants to read according to the novels you like. If you don’t like it, you’ll abandon it even without reading it fully. I hate readers like this. I leave many plot holes in several places; I use them to create a mystery! A puzzle that I will gradually close or patch up later. However, there are quite a few people who consider those plot holes to be nonsense. Do you know "Lord of Mysteries"? And "Deep Sea Embers"? Two Chinese novels in the mystery genre? Yes, I just want to use some mysteries and will gradually explain them, just like those two novels. I am someone who loves theories; I will often use theories in the novels I write, and I will also add some theories circulating on the internet about the Naruto World. So if you see one of them, don’t get mad. Why? Because I am someone who loves a theory! First about Natural Energy. Second about Summoning Jutsu. And there will be several others! All of this is because I am someone who loves theories and mysteries. If you know the currently popular anime "DandaDan"? In the early days of reading the manga, I was very surprised, but seeing the references from various theories and mysteries in that comic made me really love it. Why? It’s because I really love theories and mysteries that circulate in the world. I know you think the author is crazy and strange, but that’s me! And I am proud to be a human being who has something I really love!

LIKEto be fair though, there are a few reasons to drop in 1-2 Chaps -Trash translation or grammar -Annoying writing style( For example, authors/Translators that decide to use anything but quotation marks. As well as bullet pointed or choppy writing) -Blatant and heavy AI usage trash - A decision that grinds your gears( If I see a decision that genuinely gets under my skin, I'd rather not spend the next 10-20mins trying to push through it, ill read the reviews and see whether it gets better and even then ill probably take a break)
For grammar, I think I agree as well. I often come across novels with poor language that make me reluctant to read them, but my novel has decent grammar? Good? I guess? Anyway, I mostly agree with your comment, but the reviewers only read the beginning and focus on trivial issues like the Natural Energy problem, Aoki's body, and many more. I will explain those in the next chapter, but they only care about the early chapters and then just leave! That really annoys me.

Based on how much I've read, I can't seem to find anything that would make me wanna drop, those thing are pretty low tier issues in my opinion. It is just a matter of the author adding details to a previously vague subject

Have you never heard this? Never judge a book by its cover? If you think that just reading chapters 1 and 2 has made you lose interest, Doesn't that mean you're an arrogant and selfish person? Every book has something called story development, if it's only 1 or 2 chapters you already think it's bad. Doesn't that mean you're not worthy as a reader? Because you don't really try to understand the essence of a story book itself? Every book, every character, every story has a development, if just by reading chapter 1 and 2 you already think it's bad, isn't that stupid? I'm sorry, if what I said offended you, but if you are truly a reader then you shouldn't judge just by reading chapters 1 and 2, then say a book is bad. You understand?
Pekokopiko:because 1-2 chapter is enough to make a decision, if the early chapters failed to gain interest then why tf they would read until the end?

They aren’t judging a book by its cover if they’ve read at least the first two chapters. Early chapters have always been an important factor in novels, stories, or any other kind of book, except educational ones. It’s because they serve as the hook that reels readers in and makes them want more. If you fail to do that, then it’s a skill issue. I wouldn’t even blame translation errors, because even MTLs have managed to hook me with just one chapter, despite horrendous grammar. skill issue ngl
