The problem of this story is that the author doesn't know the source material. He doesn't know that there was no inquisition in the 30 millennium. That's not all but the most glaring one. Basically, he knows a bit about Warhammer 40k and tries to write a story about 30k without knowing that 30k pre heresy and 40k are vastly different.

Or, he knows that and is just making an AU. In fanfics, things can change

It seems you don't know much about Warhammer yourself. The Emperor despises religion, he would never permit it. The author doesn't know Warhammer 30K lore 100% in this case.

What does The Inquisition have to do with religion and in case you forgot he let Lorgar worship him for some time. I know Warhammer lore quite well and I knows The Emperor hates religion. The Inquisition doesn’t just deal with religion it also deals with other dangerous secrets that should be covered up

"It is generally accepted that the Inquisition only solidified into its truly modern form some time in the middle of the 32nd Millennium after the formal birth of the Imperial Cult as the state religion of the Imperium, some 800 Terran years after the end of the Horus Heresy." Your argument is "Trust me bro, I totally know about Warhammer". It's obvious you don't.

Wasn't technically the order to create the Inquisition issued by Malcador the Sigilite sometimes during the end of the Horus Heresy as a means to combat Daemons first and foremost to root out their corruption after the incident with that female remembrancer at one of the Horus's ships?

He also thinks racism both exists in the setting and is about mere skin-color (hint: racists don’t care about skin-color, it’s just an easy identifier). Then makes it a big deal for a white savior moment and then drops it.

Oh, and also the writer seems to think that roughly 40K level Imperial tech (and even some that’s out-dated even to them like the rotary cannon) is “Dark Age technology” for a civilization that retained its tech…and that they refer to it as the Dark Age.

It’s also badly written. Like, just read The Emperor (chapter 5 I think) and try to figure out how the Hell everyone magically knows about the Imperium and their membership in it. It’s like NPCs in a videogame knowing you stole something on the other side of the map even though you didn’t get caught.

Ma, good Warhammer fic is rare, and unlike some other authors, this guy Redcon edited and corrected any mistakes he made depending on the effort required to rewrite it. For example, your inquisition problem became an informal causality joke of not alerting the non-existent inquisition or leaving evidence for any future inquisitioner.

I love the story

the emperor and malcador have weekly yugioh tournaments, i doubt 100% faithfulness to the source material was the primary concern
