Well that’s your opinion, can’t fault you for that. But as far as reading lemons, they make stories feel more complete. When you describe big battles, you use details, when you describe the surrounding worlds or environments, you use details, when you describe your characters appearances or personalities, you use details. In my opinion, every story becomes great or incredible if the author utilizes what I call the 5 L’s. They’re the emotions you should be feeling while reading a story of any kind. These L’s fully encapsulates the spectrum of emotion. They’re Laugh, Lament, Loathe, Love & Lust. Every great story I’ve ever read included all 5, so for you to just use a weak cop out, or excuse for laziness, you’re really diminishing the potential of your story. Nobody says you need to write out smut. But like Jack Reacher says, details matter. Just being a bit descriptive in an intimate setting really changes everything. Hell even if you copy and paste from some other novel and just insert your story’s names, who cares. But details matter. So if you just skip a potential lemon scene or just “next day” it, you’re really hurting your story on the long run. Otherwise if you aren’t going to include the details, why even write the MC being intimate with someone. And if you remove intimacy then the story lacks. Anyway, hope you change your outlook on future works. Later
