It is basically in the same class as tasty trash food. If you are fine with wasting your time and all the clichés you are used to and the weird reasonings or events that feel like the author had an idea and simply was rushing towards it rather than building and shaping a real world or a story that unfolds to them, it is a decent read.

Well, thank you for your review. I strongly disagree with it, however, and my review on the book specifically addresses all these issues you’re mentioning
Still, it is what it is. You’re entitled to your opinion.

I get what you mean in your review, and I'm not against these tropes they have become this common for a reason, after all. They are easy to work with and relatable or easy to understand so the audience doesn't feel lost. What I'm saying is that this is not a good implementation of these tropes. Characters feel like they belong to those those older, low quality wuxia novels. There is nothing wrong with simple characters, but making them boring/ too one dimensional or too on the nose is a problem. Writing should be more subtle and nuanced, and rather than characters/ side characters declaring their traits and desires, we should see how they act, react, and make decisions to deduce them. I think you will write some good stuff in the future, but this novel feels like you started low and are learning as you go rather than having a solid base writing level.
