Going out of Konoha means going out of plot. When you do that, you need to make a plot of your own. It's not really easy to do so. Plus, out of all the villages shown in the whole series, Konoha is the most decent one to live in. Not to mention, prewritten waifus! Konoha has the best of them.

my problem was never with konoha, but almost all the fanfic focuses on that village and my question is how many times can you tell the same story without falling into monotony? Because of this, the novels today have lost freshness and originality, so when we leave there we can see aspects of the series that in my opinion we never saw (even in the original series). PS: I know it's difficult to write a plot that doesn't be the canonical....but that gives it a different touch....also sometime I would like to see konoha lose (crazy no war or battle lost...because kishimoto empowered that village a lot😏 )

There are many fanfics about Konoha losing, in the top fanfics there are 2 or more if I'm not mistaken

In these 2 Konoha loses, there are others but I would have to look very low in my library or in other MTL pages and honestly I am too lazy Saving the Uchiha by Starting with the Destruction of the Leaf Uchiha: Destroy Konoha at the Start!

Want a village that is safer than Konoha? There is Kumo, which is definitely safer and nicer to live in. Pretty sure Iwa is also still safer if we consider Danzo existing. Then there are also lots of smaller villages, which are safer because no one cares about them enough to attack them.
