most things about the story are okay but as I reached the end of the current chaps I started to dislike the mc it wasn't anything new he did to make me feel that way its just his relationship with Alex really rubs me the wrong way and it doesn't feel like he's growing at all which has lead to me becoming disinterested in the mc which kinda ruins my reading experience

LIKEWhat happened in Gacha? I had stopped reading a little after the guy's boyfriend had a birthday, I actually don't know if it was the boyfriend or the guy who had a birthday. But what did the protagonist do?
Yeah it does actually. That story is wearing me out these days. Something I like about it are the comedy and concert episodes. The songs are the only thing keeping me with that story. Otherwise it isn't even past S01 in Modern Family. 🤷🏾♂️
It’s the Chinese MC Mary Sue thing that irritates me. Has to be supernaturally good at everything…. And the random bits of drama and angst that feels manufactured.
On point you are. Author tries to make it like sitcoms but it just feels irritating here. We would watch FRIENDS and laugh at Ross-Rachel on-off relationship or Chandler's sarcasm. Or Joey's playboy tendencies. Here, in novel format, I feel like it falls flat for Ed. And it's not even like natural. Just some hints here and there about "troubled past" and it's just being milked for his "mommy issues". Like hello? Character Development? Joey had one! Chandler even cried!? What's Ed's thing?
Right. The most recent White House down arc for example is wayyyy over the top and out of the expected genre.
