Very frustrating especially the first few chapters. The MC complains about literally everything and he panics about literally nothing. He is a hypocrite which is not bad per se~ he ends up killing Issei and taking his sacred gear cause if your gamer you should right? Anyways, it's a good fic just not for me.

I kinda agree with this review. It's definitely not a bad fic. It has its good points. But the MC's attitude is just so... annoying. He feels like this kid who thinks the more he cusses, the cooler he is. It's childish and juvenile. I don't mind the MC complaining about things. But I do feel the author is kinda overdoing it a bit. But my biggest gripe with this fic is the author making the romance in his story obsolete. When the affection system was introduced it already made any future romance shallow. But now the MC is flirting with girls not because he likes them but because there are rewards for getting their affection up. Sure, the MC does like the girls' looks but his main motivation seems the system rewards. Personally, it's uncomfortable to read. I instantly imagine MC as a gold digger of sorts. I could go deeper and say more but I think this is enough. You may agree or disagree with my opinion but this is how I feel after reading the story. That said, the story does have its good points, like the grind, the MC's struggles during it, and a few unique aspects in the story. I think people should just give it a read and then decide if it is for them or not.

Where is the Issei bashing? I dont hate Issei personally. Neither did Mc and he didn't WANT to kill Issei. But with the reward offered he would be stupid not to.

The affection system and MC's reason for approaching them gets addressed later on. In fact it is quite important later on but I don't want to spoil.

The untalented part and the fact the MC killed him. As for the stupid not to kill not exactly true. A moral compass is needed for any person and from here we can see the MC doesn't seem to have any as long as it's for power. He would do anything for it. So his relationship with others is questionable and seems fake. The novel isn't bad just rubbed me off the wrong way. Maybe I'll come back to it so keep up the work

It's Issei bashing because you literally wrote the mc that way, he doesn't have a moral compass and didn't think twice before killing issei. Like you can't say he didn't want to because you forced the mc to do it by making the system give him a quest. You didn't need to give him a quest. Seems very forced and dumb. There is no possible way you can counter this because it is right in front of people. It's cut and clear.

Killing issei will be my no 1 priority in dxd world and it's not becuz I hate him or anything but that dudes power curve is insane. He becomes so OP in so little time that it's an abnormality and you won't know how the future will turn out becuz of the butterfly effect caused by MC. If given a chance to kill such abnormality when it's in a weak state will ease my paranoia.

I feel like, as long as Issei is kept sane, he could actually be a decent ally. He wants a Harem, and as long as you don't go agains him, even if you have your own harem, he wont try to steal from you. On the other hand, I'd kill him just to mess up whatever plans the Etoulde have for him. Don't trust them further than I can throw them, and that's not very far.

although i have alot of things to say about not killing issei i do agree with you when you say that its to dangerous to keep him alive cause of the ones behind the scenes

im sorry did you just complain that the mc only does things for power and thats his main focus. do you not understand how the DXD power system work or are you being stupid on purpose? if you have a sacred gear then if you want something enough you will get it. for example strength. if you want strength so bad you are willing to work yourself to near death you will become stupidly strong stupidly fast. obsession = strength in DXD.

bro obsession doesn't automatically equal power in , it's that obsession that corrupted and killed every single user of the boosted gear in history the fact the mc isn't dead or mad yet is bc the author straight up ignored that fact about dxd, issei literally the only red dragon emperor in history who didnt go mad from using the boosted gear , even the spear of God own by cao cao , the most powerful of sacred gears , a sacred gear which was stated to grant any desire of the user will outright reject u and side with your enemies if your ideals don't align with humanity . Obsession doesn't fuel your sacred gear , sacred gear a fueled by emotions and desires ( a need to be exact not a want but a need )
