better then some of the omnitrix in dc i have read, tho it still falls for the same problem all of them have, introducing the omnitrix. they would not have any aliens stored inside unless this is a crossover in which case MC wouldn't get it unless it was a dark AU crossover. the rest were just minor issues this early in the story. it would have been better if MC built it and at the beginning he added dna to transform 1 at the start and upgrades the watch to hold more as the story goes. (which no other omnitrix story does from what i have seen) and the biggest problem i have with fics that do this is how to explain your power without breaking the 4th wall and lowering the quality of a fic.

I actually don't mind them having the power of the aliens and with his confusion it is really up to us to determine how he has it. further as long as it is not unable to use the aliens of DC I don't see a problem.
though I will say I do wish that there was less restrictions. the fact that there is a time limit makes sense in the case of how the watch works but I really hate time limits as a plot progression idea. it makes everything feel forced. if it were me I would have made it so that he basically had to work through authority or admin levels they gave him access to more aliens. like start with xclr8 and four arms maybe new ones that are considered weaker with the idea that maybe it wants to use less aggressive DNA or something. Aka Kryptonian or clestialsapian would overwhelm his DNA if used thus would be unlocked way later in higher admin levels that are really limiters allowing him to adapt to more powerful DNA. and maybe as he gets older and can work with the watch more it unlocks more aliens even going past the normal limit of 10. until he can like Ben 10000 or whatever use the power of all aliens as himself including new ones

i am working on a fanfic still in the story map faze 13-15 volumes in total, where each volume can be read independently. so basically 13-15 fanfics in one, with at least 1,000 words per chapter and each volume go for as long as possible. tho it will be years before i am ready due to it being a chat group/crossover/reincarnation fanfic, but im still working on member order, expanding chapter ideas, and my biggest problem as a writer giving my characters emotions/development. i don't have a large vocabulary and i'm not good with people due to being apathetic during my school years i only learned empathy during work so what seems like a minor convenience to me is a big deal to others, what is sad for others is awkward for me, so it is slow going to make my characters feel like people and not NPC's
