They saw him absorb the system in his chest, and having a small group of people know what's going on is paramount for earning trust and maximizing the usefulness of the system. This is not a novel where the mc can do whatever and people will look in amazement, secrets cause rifts in people and tend to attract a lot of prying eyes. Having some people he shares it with can mitigate the problem.

They saw him absorb an artifact, not a system. The magical things he would do afterwards could be explained in many other ways later on. Talking about truths and secrets when everything they know is all based on the biggest lie that he is no longer Roderick seems a little ridiculous though. The story is written amazingly but the mc is pretty meh. His thought process and decisions kind of suck.

Amazing work! The writing is descriptive and pulling while being very snappy with the plot which is a huge surprise for WN books. The story itself is unique and set in a rich and beautifully handcrafted environment that shows the author's knowledge of his craft. Everything seems to be made with so much love that you just can't stop reading. it's thrilling and exciting when it needs to be and merry and adventurous when it needs to be. Very well handled, highly recommended!

At the 7th chapter, I can't really be critical but to appreciate the work. I myself is a fanatic of this type of novel relating with magic and academies so i can't bring myself to low rate it. Story so far intriguing and the character development was a job well done :3 Good luck man.
