Oh after reading only first chapter I got dissapointed .. mc father was well not drug addict ,a well known abuser , killed mc's mom and everyone know still no one ever called polish on him. not even mc thought of ever calling the cops... I mean if just start of the story have such a big plot hole than what could we expect later on from this story... same as every other chinese story - law and other was nowhare to be found in modern world and cops are never mentioned in any crime...

The story is solid, same with background information. I love the power system and that it isn't just 1 single path but multiple. My only real complaint is how you describe moments. Sometimes It is best to use simple vocabulary instead of always using big words (If that makes sense). Ex: A deep sense of foreboding and uncertainty is etched into their minds at the magnitude of their dilemma.instead, you could describe it as: The weight of the incoming danger weighs heavily on their shoulders. They both convey the same meaning, but it is more impactful to save powerful words and phrases for specific moments instead of every sentence

The novel has elements of lighthearted comedy from time to time and I do chuckle at how direct the humor is. It's not as smart as say WMW nor does it weave an intricate story much like Ergen's novels. More importantly, its fun and it doesn't try to hide it.
