I liked everything about this story apart from the MC, like apart from the beginning, most of the problems he faced were brought to him by hisnown actions and rash decisions and in the latest few chapters (around 158 as of now) he turned a potential loyal ally who did nothing but help him (and she was bloody genuine) to a potential enemy by betraying her trust because he ‘doesn’t want to be betrayed’ and he still had the nerve to justify himself. Man I really like this story, especially at the beginning and the MC too but his character went downhill after the academy arc.

I have the same feelings. I'm going to read it to the end of the school arc. but if there isn't something indicating that he's actually not going to go the selfishly evil route. I'm going to drop it. one of the tags says antihero but antiheros still need to be heroic in some sense. Right now it just feels like he's going down the path of selfish evil.
I was starting to liking it but now I'm going to drop It now, only because of this. I mean what's he going to do alone, I bet in future It's was one of the reason he starting to kill everyone saying ' I'm all alone '. And most importantly It pop out of nowhere, in just few chapters the author made his 'work together partners' each other's enemies.
I had the same thought, story really went downhill for me when he basically betrays her for no reason, why would she betray the only other truly persecuted person? I really don't know how this can have a romance tag, the only option he backstabbed with the logic of "what if?" Seems like this is a setup instead for an edgy "I don't need or trust anyone" mc
