I have the same feelings. I'm going to read it to the end of the school arc. but if there isn't something indicating that he's actually not going to go the selfishly evil route. I'm going to drop it. one of the tags says antihero but antiheros still need to be heroic in some sense. Right now it just feels like he's going down the path of selfish evil.
Lol yep. My dyslexia isn't as bad as it used to be. But I'll still transpose entire words like this at times in my head. I could have read that sentence a dozen times and always read it as photographic in my head.

Yep. He regrets this going forward.
His logic at this time is that if everyone thinks he has no source, he can fly under their radar and act however he wants without people thinking it's him because he's supposed to be weak. The flaw of course is that he ends up being passive when he could solve situations before they become bigger problems.
They are in a different world past one of the gates in their city.

Over the course of his different lives he saw people take shortcuts to reach power. And it would often be detrimental to their overall abilities. That's what that paragraph's supposed to mean.
