I got to this part now, I even just posted a comment about this exactly, I hadn't seen that you had already commented, but really the author is a racist, I thought this work I wouldn't have it, precisely because it deals with other worlds, but it seems that racism is so great that the author managed to find a place to practice it.

I read it further and you know the funny part, in his territory there are several different races, because there is no "discrimination", funny that he only discriminates against human beings who did not come from the same country as him.

To be fair I don't care. I am Spanish, It's like reading of torture and saying the author is sadist or a murderer a psychopath. I am sick of overly offended people. Because it cross here later and it's awful. Regardless if the novel is good or bad, go to twitter, there your will find the right environment for this kind of conversation. Although I cant completely agree with the other guy, I cant help but point out that there is a huge difference between a racist author and a racist story. Racisim being prevalent in the story is certainly a downside, but thats it, there are plenty of morally wrong protags everywhere. While a racist author shoylf have absolutely nothing to do with a review of the story. People have freedom to do whatever they want and think however they wish, but acting like a story is garbage due to a racist author is just shallow thinking at the end of the day.

I don't see why some of the people here think its so bad to not want the MC of a story they are reading to be racist? Just because someone doesn't want the protagonist to be racist doesn't mean they are soft or easily offended. It just means they don't like it when the protagonist is a racist PoS. I don't think that's a take that should be so controversial. Also your comparison isn't completely accurate imo. Murder within movies, novels, etc. have become so common that we don't even really blink when it happens nor do we ever assume the author/director desires murder irl. However, stuff like politics and racism are often seen as more of an indication of the author own thoughts. To your point, I do agree that allot of people have become overly sensitive to these topics, especially in media that have political messages, but most novels like this one aren't subtle nor are they tasteful in their portrayal of sensitive topics. You can't blame people for not enjoying it when the author has an obvious agenda that they shove in your face in such a distasteful way.

The social pushback against racism is a trend necessary for the eventual removal of it from the general population. To turn around and say that someone shouldn't be butthurt about a racist protagonist is in opposition of the general message of racism being bad. If the author is racist and puts that racism into his art, you should call him out and if not boycott leave a poor review mentioning it. This is called "Finding out" it happens when you "F*** around". It's a message of karma.
