If you get over the first few chapters, then you would be able to read a very interesting novel. Going to skip the awfulness of the first few chapters to not discourage people from trying to read this novel. Just know that MC is going to be like the "True hidden boss" and he would have to search for disciples and turn them to be a villain boss. For me the main interest in this story is definitely going to the disciples. Their story, progress, and future is what kept me excited. Didn't care much for MC right now since all he's really doing is keep on looking for disciples, waiting for new templates, and hiding his secret identity to his sister. Would really recommend people to read this book and hopefully goes through the trial read to voting pool, since this is a really interesting novel.

But do these characters have personalities? Most of these "disciple" novels are pure nonsense - thousand year old world's greatest villains behaving and acting like people whose brain has been fried, often so shallow and illogical.

Ooh I don't know. I'm basing my review on what I felt, while reading the novel. I don't get things like personality. If the characters are being illogical, not sure. The disciples are supposed to be great at their specialties, so I don't think they should be illogical. But if they are acting like NPCs then maybe... I'm more interested in the progress/transformation of MC and his disciples going from the bottom-rung to the top 1% or something like that. Just like in Pokemon, I'm not interested in the story; I just want to know and see their evolution and the fighting and the outcome of overcoming their problems.

Thanks for answer, i will check the novel out by myself to get some personal experience then, but probably not today yet hence why asked. As for me, i used to like novels where just MC was something i could "associate with" or was likeable/followable but these days i can't really bother with a novel if there's no good flow, logical behavior, potential or some unique concepts in it other than the MC wrecking his opponents/growing stronger. And so far most of these disciple stories (main theme) have been very shallow, they focus on relations between master-disciple but it's done badly, worse than in some battle novels. "My Disciple are All Villains" is one such disappointment, just a couple chapters and you know the limit is author's skill and that it will not get better as character personalities have been butchered from the very start.

If you are going to read the novel, then please lower your expectation of MC to the utmost level during the first few chapters. It's just plain ridiculous. If you get through that part, then everything would be at least an okay read to pass time.
