How would running help? If you're a coward; the best next thing to do is the kneel down and possibly beg not to be killed. Running would just make it more fun for the other party; increasing the chances of dying.

TF. You're not making any sense. To get an archery skill he just has to do basic archery, but to get a fist skill he can't just do a basic punching?
