Na that guys case is pretty pathetic. He says he wants to be a hero to save people but never thought about other possible ways like doctor, police, detective. The whole pro hero nonsense feels like he wanted to be one just for money and fame. Also his parents hardly did anything to snap him out of his bad habits, it was shown in series many times that dude was suicidal to the point that he would rather die saving a bad guy than being human for once and accepting his limitations. Not once did he care about his mother while breaking his body to such severe extend. Let us not talk about his Stockholm syndrome with bakugo, who somehow is considered an amazing hero for screaming curses, demeaning others and creating a toxic environment in class above all insubordination.

Heck if you think about it both stories have very similar elements Mc has a friend/rival that probably abuses him and he seeks for his approval They have a lazy but capable teacher, who has a dead friend who turns out to be alive and is helping the bad guys, a loud mouth friend who is trying to cheer up him Both mcs have this legendary power that was originally part of the bad guy, and now bad guy wants it back Both mcs where prohibited from taking part in final war but they went anyways Both mcs have a red haired friend who was raised as a weapon by his father and was a psychopath but becomes good after fighting the mc. Both mcs have a legendary figure as mentor/father (all might can be considered as his father) Lets not forget the unpleasant childhood both have Both mcs have a friend who has a brother who is a bad guy. Both mcs want to save the guy who caused countless deaths. That’s why I like asta compared to deku.
