Whats happening to webnovel. Once upon a time, I looked forward to my Fridays because of the great books that came out every week. As time passed, the quality dropped slowly, but as Webnovel already had all the good books, this was understable. At some point the gems will run out, and you will have to wait for new ones to be made. But nowadays, the quality of the books webnovel are putting out every week are absolute trash. Absolute garbage. mindless plots, tropes and cliches that have been recycled a thousand times over. I would have to go back months to find a batch of books that had a character with the slightest depth to it. Please Webnovel, give us some good books.

there are still good ones. just webnovel doesn't seem to care about them. for example all the old trial reads that never got continued
Meh, most of the titles I've seen are fairly ok in the original Chinese. They're not the most creative, but, they convey what the book will be about, like most other Asian stories (Japanese and Korean stuff included). The titles in English are indeed comically long and descriptive, but that's a side effect of translating languages were a single symbol can have a very hefty definition. Admittedly, though, I have seen a few absolute stinkers out there.

Well, if you looking for good book then you should check site like Royalroad or scribblehub instead since they often have at least 60~80% good/quality novel there (at least in the popular/top rank list, unlike webnovel trashy one that even most of their tops list are still trash). Here are some of my example that are quite good enough and some great one: ------------------------------------------ + Most of good one in royalroad that I know of: 'The Voyager: Remastered'; 'Enlightened Empire'; 'Lia and Lara will seek the One Piece'; 'Serial Transmigrator'; 'Until Death? suit yourself then, but if for some bias reason that you can't give some novel on that site a try then you can check a well written one in other site like spacebattle and sufficientvelocity, here are some good novel/fanfic example: 'The Other Path [RWBY SI] [AHOIAC AU]'; 'Cruel to be Kind' (if you like more realistic empire building where the mc and his group isn't perfect then this is it); 'This Bites! (One Piece SI)'; 'Factory Isolation (SI Multicross)' (it finished, try to read past first few chapter until you see actual interaction/dialog, it pick up from there). ------------ That some example, there are some more good one in other site like fanfiction.net if you rather not read on royalroad for some reason

Answer is easy. No respectable author would ever make money on WN (aka Qidian) who is owned by Tencent. Their offers and contracts are utter trash, they can freely break the contract and good luck suing them as they are based in China. Second, Webnovel.com is inaccessible in China as there are western authors who bash China regularly. If YOU break the contract, they will sue you for everything. They can also took over your work willynilly. It's in the contract. You can't have Patreon, SubscribeStar or any other income from your work as 50% of all profit belongs to Qidian (really, from every source). They also manipulate the ranking in all categories to promote Chinese authors and their incompetent translators/editors with elementary schoold English (and yes, even though it's banned in China...) That is why.

i mean yeah... some books dont give character descriptions unless they are female... some books people choose a choice just to make the plot quicken and not to increase the power of mc... some have invisble hands that mess up mc's plans...

Well, I don't usually check novel of that genre but I can try a bit, first is a post list, other will be novel recommend, mostly in royalroad site:------- + Search google "royalroad 'Just plain VRMMORPG' " to see that thread talk about list recommend and Requirements, so it will help filter out lot of bad one. --------------------------------------------------------------- + 'Kairos: A Greek Myth LitRPG' (not sure how good it is, but it written by experienced author so should beat out most of cliche' china novel)--- + 'Isekai Battle Royale: I was an MMORPG player transported into an FPS World!' (not sure if it count :v) --------------------------------------- + 'Data Dragon Danika' (it quite good, but last time I readed it in volume 2 so not sure about the rest, at least volume 1 is a blash near the end)-- + 'Ashes of Gods' (great one that other author should have learn in writing this genre, too bad it hiatus but worth the read there)------------ + 'Artisan' (by 'Literal Folly' author since there are copycat around, great realistic VRMMO superhero story but too bad it hiatus) ----------------- + 'PARTY HARD' (great novel with Unique VR system, too bad most of it removed to post on Amazon now)-------------------------------------- -> Not sure if there are more good one since I out of time to check the list now, but this should be it for the good stuff.

To be fair it’s obvious that things would eventually become cliche as they were used more and more. Nothing you can do about it, eventually we will run out of fresh ideas and be forced to reuse old idead over and over, and the best we can hope for would be a nice combination that’s not really used.
