I already wrote a critique on this, in a chapter comment, but now that I am a bit further in the story I will write this one. The first 30 chapters are weird. The writing quality is good. the world seems interresting, but the pace and MC are off. Its too clean, too many times you think "huh, but..." and the author is probably right in saying he has thought it over very thoroughly, but just thibking it amacka you out of the story. The pace is too slow and the progress not very interresting. This combined with the constant urge to tell the author that it he could have done something different (experienced by not only me) makes it hard to go through. Huh, but why the 5 stars then? Well the beginning makes it all the more obvious that the story after ch 30 really picks up, it finds its pace, its soul. The MC and side characters become more interresting, you just want to continue reading. Its fun. There is suspense. a bit of veil is uncovered. I stopped reading 4 different times reading the first 30 ch. And read the next 30 ch in 3 hours straight (I am a slow reader). Guild wars is my favorite novel on WN, and I was sad with the sudden hiatus, but now I am a bit less sad as this definitly is growing to the same heights. Excited to read the rest, and that means it deserves 5 stars.
