I have a book recommendation for you- "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft" by Steven King, it is mostly just him talking about his life but the end of the book is creative writing advice from a trained highschool English teacher/college creative writing teacher who is also one of the most successful fictional authors in history.... A preface quote he used in that book was "to write is human, to edit is devine"

yeah. no story is perfect... If you stop reading something just because theres one or two flaws in it, thats just stupid imo.

It is not one or two defects, it is the core of the story, if that is wrong then the rest of the story will be too, I don't usually turn off the brain while reading, that is stupid.

In this story, the union of souls directly affects the core of the story, which is the relationship of the protagonist with his love interests and their power base, the decision of the union of souls will directly and completely affect the whole history of ff.

but its a fanfiction... There is no real 'sole' plot to it since its just an extension of an already planned and original idea. The union of souls were most likely to keep damsel in distress situations to a minimum when it came to the love interests. I understand how it can be annoying and unlikable but it is quite nice for the lovers to be strong.

the union of souls itself does not bother me, the annoying thing is that the author took the only thing from the mc that made him special and gave it to everyone else while he did not get anything.
