Gotta be honest, really not a fan of the "following multiple characters" style of writing. I was just starting to feel connected to the MC and then you switched it up on me. If it doesn't go back to normal in the next couple of chapters, I'll be dropping the novel. I've already skipped through all of Erik's chapters.

That's fine. To each their own. Actually already back to Eldrian. But it is locked by the privilege until I publish more...

Thank you for this review. I also detest stories that repwatedly switch POVs to side characters or other characters. Its so annoying and most of the time I couldnt give a rat’s a55 about the perspective of someone else or their dumb side quest journey. Its such a waste of time and frustrating to read. Because you mentioned this book does this, now i know to skip it. I just LOVE (sarcasm) that there is no mention of multiple POVs anywhere in the synopsis or other reads. Talk about annoying

Really? I must say while I understand disliking multi-POV, I do not understand how you can want an entire story of hundreds of chapters to never shift POV to some side characters/antagonists to give them growth. Nor can you then ever show anything that the MC is not part of. Cause doing that requires a POV shift outside of the MC's. (It is one thing that I feel made my writing worse - wishing to not POV shift early.) I mean, how else are you to show who those characters are outside of the MC's friend/enemy? Note, I try to keep the chapters on other POVs short. I believe the longest thus far is four in a row when Erik was introduced.

Hi, I wrote the reply not really expecting one in return. Which I guess is now the case with that you deleted the reply. However, I still want to address what you brought up. Not wishing to argue, but since that reply explains why you dislike multi-POV and I wish to explain to people who might later go through. I do not want them to simply ignore my book because there are other POVs. () First off, I certainly do not claim to be a good writer, I assume I am average or even slightly below. I have only been writing for a year. As such I do sometimes fall into beginner pitfalls and crutches. These make it through easily since I have no beta/proofreaders, nor anyone editing my work. () Now on to the reply: I agree, it can be done. However, the reason for the first POV shift was to try and show what normal players experience the game as. Eldrian(The MC) having a very special experience due to his chosen race. There is no other way to show this, only to explain. And I did not wish to explain it. () On the description of the world part, it is something I constantly work on to improve upon. Hard to really improve though when I never really get comments stating that something is unclear/could be better. () As for caring for the MC, I deeply care and believe he is fully fleshed out. However, I admit that I might sometimes lose perspective due to writing day to day and not having a stack of prepared chapters to revise to help me see what is happening as a while. I generally try to read through my chapters every month or so to regain perspective. () Why four chapters... I kind of just ran with it, trying to explain his situation and difficulties. Was it necessary, not really. Did I enjoy writing them, and still do. Most certainly. -- Did I run out of things for the MC, most certainly not. Did I explore everything with MC, most certainly not. There is so much unknown left to discover. Did I challenge the MC, yes, yes I have. Repeatedly thus far. () Also, in regard to POV shifts, when a major event happens and MC isn't there. He will also never hear of it, but I wish my audience to know of it, then I write it. This is something often done by others, often a few paragraphs to a few chapters long. This is also the part I meant when saying I believe it held me back when I feared shifting view from MC. () In any case, thanks for this full reply. I did not find it harsh, as it explains your reasoning for disliking multi-POV. I always assumed it was just because people prefer the MC, finding him/her the most interesting. Your worries are a new side of this. Thanks.

Didnt delete my reply so hopefully its just a bug on your end! Still shows for me haha. And i appreciate your thoughts and hearing your perspective. I think you add some nice nuance that gives reasoning for those POV shifts. Ill add this book to my library and give some of it a read tonight since you’ve convinced me to give it a shot. I appreciate your calm response and that is 100% the reason why ill give it a read now after skipping over it before. 👍 Thanks for being level headed.

That's weird, and cool for the latter. Just know that the story is very slow and very in depth. Wasn't my aim to convince you, but that is a bonus. Just wanted to explain the reason since I felt POVs have their place, 😊 (Actually the story is very fast paced, so much happens. 300 chapters and about 3 to 4 months have passed in the story. That is very little time consider it is over half a million words.) What makes it slow is the MC is still a beginner. Even 300 chapters in. I approach my writing from an analytical logical engineering thought path. As such, there is a bunch of depth to things which are normally summed up in 1 sentence. I would give it 1 to 10 chapters. Just a warning, know that it is very niche.
