The mc in this novel is extremely cautious and steady as seen by the title of this novel. The novel is set in the world prior to Investiture of Gods Mythological battle. If some of you have read that then you'll love the novel and if some doesn't know the characters don't worry, the novel will lead you to a very good journey where you'll probably be laughing and at the same time see how treacherous a Cultivation World actually is. The main plot is that mc from earth who had weak body reincarnated to Great Desolate world which is the myth world that became after Pangu splitter the heaven and earth, this novel tells you about the antics of the mc as he tried to evade karma and doesn't want to be entangled with any sort of karma with anyone but the fate doesn't permit it and hilarious scenes ensues. This is a novel with primarily a comedic undertone a bit like CCG but this is probably the best in my opinion in terms of a Cultivation novel. Mc is too Cautious , he has several backup plans for every situation. He doesn't move unless he is 98% sure that he will succeed and this in turns get him into hilarious troubles lol. And all the characters are likeable and don't get discarded like your usual trash novels, they are always relevant throughout the story. As for the romance there are two girls confirmed currently in the raws and Don't worry it's not a novel of collecting girls like Pokemon. And the chaps with his junior sister are truly good. This is what a Cultivation novel should be. I really wanted to like this story. It does some things quite well, and at first it seemed like a really fresh experience, but after a while it began to seem like a one-trick pony. Basically it relies way, way too heavily on gimmicks. These gimmicks are what made the story interesting in the beginning, but the author seemed to lack the ability to properly incorporate them into a real story, and instead just made /everything/ about this gimmick, to the point that it becomes a crutch that eventually drags the story down. It tries very hard to be funny, and it does succeed at times, but mostly just hammers home the same juvenile, unfunny jokes until they become a serious annoyance. A good author would have taken that concept that worked in the beginning and subtly integrated it into a "proper" story, rather than relied on the gimmick to carry them through and overuse it again and again and never actually get to writing anything worth reading about.

It's a really forced novel and the MC is sometimes really stupid. The author keeps saying how the MC doesn't want trouble yet he does absolutely nothing when the 3 women all go out of their way to cause trouble for him in the most forced way ever, he doesn't even try sometimes and just lets it happen. This is also probably a harem, which completely ruins the novel. It has some unique(as in CN unique) but that's it.

The MC can't decide. Does he want to be indifferent and mind his own business, or does he do want to involve himself in situations were he might die. The story feels so damn forced. The Mc doesn't seem to consider the consequences of his actions and lies. The conflicts are especially forced in this one since the MC seems to try his very best to avoid trouble. Don't worry though, the author can use something as convient as 'karma' to explain away all these plot holes. But this is a gag novel so I really don't know what I expected.

Of the 143 fully read qidian novels in my library, this might actually be my favorite, or at least top 3. It’s without a doubt the best cultivation novel I’ve read, and it’s quite refreshing in that it deviates so much from other cultivation novels. It truly has its own charm, and even though I love novels like Lord Xue Ying and desolate era, this slightly more slice of life and comedy style cultivation is often a more enjoyable read. The story might remind many of “the spiritual attainment of Ming He”, in that a lot of the same characters from Chinese mythology like nuwa, three pure ones and so on, but the novels style differs a lot. A great aspect to the novel is that it doesn’t only follow the MC, but also a lot of likable side characters. These characters are well written, have their own stories and personalities. You get vivid feelings for different characters, like his earnest master, his slightly clumsy and adorable junior sister, his scheming (in a fun way) uncle master, his unrestrained martial aunt, the icy but innermost fiery senior sister etc. You start to like and care for all these characters. So my conclusion is, try this story out, it’s great! If it doesn’t get picked, I might just have to read mtl, but I’d be extremely sad as it would feel like running this master piece of a novel.
